Prepaid for a car. Reservation said 7pm. I didn't get in until 9:30pm and their desk was closed with a sign saying go talk to Hertz. Hertz said they couldn't help and to come back in the AM. Like seriously? My hotel was a 100 miles away. How can a rental car desk close at 8pm on a holiday weekend at a major airport? Now I've got to dispute the charge and pay even more for a car.
Terrible car rental experience. I will never rent from Dollar Car Rental again. We went to pick up our car after landing in Orlando and the line was outrageously long. We proceeding to get yelled at by an employee saying that as a family of 4 we couldn't stand in line together. I'm sorry but you can't tell me what to do when your line is this long. It was terrible and I will never recommend this car rental service to anyone. I don't need to be yelled at by anyone for wanting to stand in line as a family. Ridiculous!
Worst travel experience I've ever had in all my years traveling. Las Vegas Dollar rental at harry ried Airport. Horribly workers who do not care, line is hour plus long and you see them go on there personal phones while customers sit there and wait. Finally get pass them to go wait another hour and a half waiting for a car. Could not get me the one I reserved so I had to get a 2 door with 4 people and 4 suitcases. They also tried to double charges me as I already paid priceline for a down payment. When I returned it, the line was even longer then when I picked up my car. Never, ever will i use them or Thrifty no matter what deal they give me. One of the workers at the desk, I believe named Greg, even looked at starting a fight with some in the line who complained. They will ruin your vacation as I was on the phone trying to get ahold of somebody to dispute the charges even though I had the receipt of what I should of payed UT my my credit card was card and extra 259 dollars that I already paid to priceline. Just plan terrible, you should of heard the people yelling when I dropped of the car, that one was for ever, while all the other companies seemed to run like a well oiled maxhine.
If I could give them zero stars, I would. I was lied to at the counter that I do not have insurance coverage through Priceline, where I booked the rental. They charged me $470 on top of the rental price of $355. I called their 800 number and was told by 2 different reps that if I return the car, I will get a full refund. I drove 60+ mi back to return the car only to find out I am still getting charged for 1 day. How can they scam people into getting more insurance when I already had insurance through Priceline. Take an Uber to a nearby car rental place instead of this horrible scam business. I was left without a rental car but still have to pay for the rental plus insurance. What kind of business do this to their customers?
They added liability insurance even though the car was pre reserved with Priceline. They were told no extras and they charged us anyways. Customer service is trained to tell you you agreed to it. Because the contract is written to specify you agree wether or not you were provided a contract to review before signing. Which they don’t provide. Corporate office says only local office can reverse the charge. This is such a scam. They stole $279 from me.
Awful. Not enough cars this one hour wait. Got a car:it reeked of cigarette smoke. Asked the dollar agent to provide another car as the smell was sickening. Rudely told to Ruth take the car or wait another hour on the back of the line gir another car. Terrible customer service. Don’t put a car into circulation that is filthy and don’t tell a customer that there’s no remedy. Never again with Dollar.
There was a limited selection of vehicles and the one that was left was disgusting. There were stains on the seat and it smelt like an Eastern European bathhouse. The worst part was the hidden fees. I selected this service due to the cost and I got far less than I paid for in the end.
Do yourself a favor and do not rent a car with Dollar Car Rental. They are intentionally misleading about what the total cost will be and look for any chance they can to add on extra fees. I know that that is somewhat standard for car rental places but it seems to be worse here. I will not use them again.
I was in Milwaukee for ONE day for a funeral. My flight was changed and I had to fly out 3 hours earlier therefore, I didn't have time to get gas before returning. Since I had only used about 1/4 of a tank, I accepted the hit from my deposit. I soon got an alert for a $615 charge. I was told that the car had half a tank and that I failed to return the key that they confirmed they had. They also acknowledged that they over charged me for gas. I am still waiting for my refund almost one month later.
I am really unhappy that I have to go to this extent because I have rented with Hertz/Dollar Rental in the past, HOWEVER, today was unbelievable. There were 2 women at the counter and I would hope that I went to the one that was not having such a great day and this is not her usual demeanor. I know the procedure with prior purchases when using a debit card. The elderly woman with the longer red/brown hair was extremely rude and dismissive. I had just stood in line and listened to the gentleman in front of me go through the steps of having to utilize his debit card with the concierge with the shorter hair and he proceeded to get his rental - no problem. I proceeded to the counter and handed over my driver's license and military Navy Federal debit card only to be dismissed and not even afforded the information the man prior to me received. I told her that money was taken from my card already and before I could explain that I already knew the policy on debit cards she had handed me my items back, dismissed what I was saying and told me to call "them" to get my money back. I called the 1800 number to receive my refund, but I will continue to warn everyone about the poor service I received.
