Lovely lil fun place for lunch! The atmosphere takes the edge off from a stressful morning. Not your "typical" salsa...it's a good change up! The salad was huge!!! And the Camarones De Coco has a sweet heat to it! The heat comes afterward; but it's divine! Ensalada De La Casa w/ grilled chicken Baha Fish Taco Camarones De Coco 3 Baha Fish Taco
I heard a lot of great things about this place, and I’ve been dying to try it. The chips and guacamole without cheese were outstanding. The tacos we ordered Al pastor, asada & shrimp and the chicken fajitas, left a lot to be desired. Not sure if it was an off day, but the Al pastor/shrimp tacos had a very odd taste to them, and the chicken fajitas were completely tasteless as if the chef forgot to add any salt/seasoning. I might give it another shot, but definitely not impressed after my initial visit.
The owners Jake and Mike accepted me into their restaurant with open arms as Marco gave me one of the most refreshing strawberry mojitos I've ever hadand I get them alot. This location was created after Jake's mom'sMaria originalr restaurant shut down. She created an absolutely stunning menu and this location has my heart. They let me sit at the bar and indulged me with their hospitality. Highly recommend this place for cocktails or for an authentic Mexican meal. 5 stars during their hospitable lunch hour that had me wanting to come back for more.
Great atmosphere and such friendly people! They were more than happy to let us order drinks and chips and eat the next door pizza at their location. I will be back tomorrow!
The best Carne Asada you will ever have. Order it "old school." No gristle or fat whatsoever, and perfectly seasoned. The Margherita was on point and the salsa is outstanding. Always a good sign when the owners are out talking to the customers and offering menu suggestions which is the reason I ordered it. A really cool place with a great vibe and super nice people. I'm not from the area, but I guarantee I'll be back. I'll be thinking about that steak for a while. Thanks for the recommendation, Michael!
My wife and I just left. Sat at the bar and had a few drinks and some Asian fusion wings. Place was great! Dana and Jake behind the bar were very engaging. Football on every TV and good people. Great spot to stop after grocery shopping. Can’t wait to go back for dinner.
This place is beyond amazing!! As a kid I went to the original location quite a few times but then about 30 something years past and now at 42yrs of age, whenever I’m in town I make it imperative to at least go there twice for food. Jake is a very tolerant gentleman considering I usually cut it close to closed ordering carry out but he’s always welcoming and always obliged to take the order. Great place! It’s interesting spot but that makes it even better!! I got nothing but love for this place!!!!!
This is much better than the original location in Edison Park. It's clean and bright and the staff is great. I love to see the owners always there working. I do wish they still had the fried banana split desert tho! That was my favorite . Only downside is it's super super small...so you can't really go at normal times if you want to get a seat without waiting and it's very tight. I normally sit at the bar if there is room.
Don Juan's is still serving the same fantastic, authentic, Mexican cuisine they were for decades at their old location. Great tacos, burritos, etc., but a great place for going beyond street food with heartier entrees. They have incredible salsas, including great mole and fresh guacamole, too! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options featuring refried beans or just veggies. Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly with a good kids menu. Parking: Loads of parking since it's in a strip mall. Wheelchair accessibility: Perfectly wheelchair-accessible since it's in a strip mall.
Absolutely delicious! This is a must visit restaurant! I have had the fajitas, enchiladas, and soups and salads. Everything I have tried is amazing and I look forward to coming back. They have an excellent selection of tequilas, delicious margaritas, and the best mojito I have ever had. The service is above and beyond and it is always nice to chat with Jake and hear what tequila recommendations he has.
