Very nice lunch experience. Had St. Patrick's menus. Shepherds pie delicious, very good flavor, veggies tender, generous sized bread bowl. Wife had rueben and was prepared just right, could have used some saurkrut as a side. French fries just ok. Desserts of carrot cake & cheese cake, served chilled was delicious. Wine & Killans for drinks. Friendly staff, server Johnathan was exceptionally nice, I'll ask for him next time.. Delivery of drinks could be quicker. Overall, definitely worth the time to visit. Features: All ok, no issues
Not a lot of Irish here, at least not on the menu. The food wasn't bad at all, in fact the onion rings and hamburger were very good. I was expecting more Irish foods. They did have Guinness on tap which was nice.Food: 3/5
The menu items are hit and miss for me, but my family likes the food and the fried chicken meal is pretty good if you're very hungry or want leftovers. They have interesting decorations on the walls and TVs with sports channels. The most recent time we went, they were busy when we got there, but the girl at the front said there was an empty table across the room they just needed to clean and it would be a 10 minute wait. Great! We had a large-ish group 7, so that was perfect—except then, after the 10 minutes were up, she told us it would be another 20 minutes, even though we had watched them clear off the table and other, smaller groups were let in and seated while we waited maybe they had reservations?. The hostess said she didn't want us waiting at the table when it would be a while for our waiter, so instead of being able to settle in, chat with my relatives from out of town, get drinks, and look over the menu, four of us were crammed into the tiny entryway bench and the rest of our group went outside to wait in the drizzling rain. We finally were told it was time and got my grandma on her feet to head to the table, but there was something the hostess ran off to check on and it was another couple of minutes before we actually got to head to the table. Once seated, it was another another half hour or more before we were allowed to order, at least 45 minutes to get the food, and despite scarfing down our meals, we ended up the last ones there. We got to the restaurant at 6:30, didn't get to place our orders until at least 7:30, maybe got our food at 8:15, and left at 9. Even when most of the other tables had all cleared out, our waiter hardly checked on us, and things moved very slowly. The staff were all friendly, but there was no explanation for the added wait time. I don't know what the deal was, but it's not the first time it's been very slow there. More communication would be nice if there's a hold-up. I've never been a waiter, but I would think if one waiter is too busy to take a table, maybe someone less busy would be allowed to wait on it? Entrees are probably $15-20, so if you get a side which are a la carte and drink, you're going to go over $20/person.
Great pub atmosphere and outstanding food. The Vietnamese salad was amazing!
Donnelly's has a nice atmosphere, very much like a real Irish pub. It's a pleasant place with a rotating draft beer list and decent but not great food. The local food critic has written good reviews about the Reuben sandwich, so I felt compelled to give it a try. Meh. It seemed to be hastily-prepared, with most of the meat balled up in the middle and the corned beef didn't seem house-made to me I could be wrong, but that was my impression. The fries were good, especially the sweet potato version, but you don't choose a restaurant just for the fries. The real problem we ran into was the slowwwww, slowwwww service. By the time the food arrived, our sandwiches were warm/moist on one side and cold/dry on the other. They had obviously been sitting under a food warmer for quite some time. The waitress forgot to bring part of the order for one person and brought the wrong item for another. She was sweet and apologetic, but things were what they were, which wasn't great. The redeeming fact was that we were in good company, so we were able to enjoy our time together. But the next time I'm in the area, I'll opt for someplace other than Donnely's.
We were very disappointed. Ordered the lunch size tenderloin sandwich, no seasoning, cardboard thin, served on a saucer as it was so small for $8.00. Asked to have pickles, received 2 small slices. Sandwiches come w/nothing. We ordered a side of sweet potato fries to share for $4.50. such a small amount that the few delivered cold fit on the saucer w/1 of the tiny tenderloins. The serving wasn't even a child's size portion. We got about 6 fries each for $4.50. Informed waitress that this might be a concern, she was great, but stated that customers & staff have told management many times & nothing is addressed. Sad to see this restaurant become so much less than it was. It is low quality food from a freezer bag, small servings, dirty/sticky tables, inability to get beverage refills at a high price. We won't be back.
Love Donnelly's Pub. Tenderloin sandwiches was the lunch special. That's what 2 people had and they were very pleased. I had the buffalo chicken salad which was greatFood: 5/5
We’ve been to Donnelly’s quite a few times since they have moved to this location and love it. This trip was spectacular, thanks to our server who played along with my sarcasm. She was quick and accurate with our order and revisited at the right times. The grilled spicy chicken was outstanding for my first try. Usually we have wings, soup and maybe a horseshoe but changed it up this time and was pleasantly satisfied!
First time that I've been here in years. Very busy, the waitress did a great job food was awesome. I had the cod fish sandwich have to try the wings next.Food: 5/5
It's o.k.the service was good but the food was bland, but I will say try it for your self, for each their owntaste.Food: 3/5
