Stopped in this shop because of curiousity. It was a wonderful shop and the owner has been making custom boots for 44 years. He has many of his older boots available as well as samples and designs.This is all handmade. the town of Guthrie is of historical interest. Some streets are brick and many of the buildings are from the late 1800's and early 1900's. Dorwart's Custom Boots had an open door, on a January day that i just couldn't resist entering. Its full of rich history. We talked with the owner, Raymond for quite some time. We had a great conversation. I don't wear cowboy boots but after visting, I'm seriously thinking of owning a custom pair with butterflies. Gorgeous and knowing that a man built his career creating such beautiful boots makes it more appealing. Great stop on the road west from the midwest.
Have you been here? You should. Mr. Dorwart is the kindest gentlemen in all of Oklahoma. The good old roots of the south and Midwest run deep in this shop and it’s fantastic boots.
