We gave this local restaurant a try as we enjoy Korean cuisine in the larger cities! This small town restaurant did not disappoint! Delicious, flavorful food! They even made certain accommodations to our food and gave great service and suggestions. Loved it and will be back! Borahae! Food: 5/5
This was my first time here, but heard about it from a lot of people. Arrived around 6pm on a Saturday night. It was very quiet, and not very busy. As soon as you enter, there's a strong aroma of delicious food! They have a small new market place section connected to this restaurant. I believe the market place side used to be a dining area too. The actual dining area was small. About 6 small tables. The market place did not have a lot of items, but would love to see it expand, and have them carry more Korean products! Food was served on to go boxes, which is easy so that you can just have that to go if you don't finish. Con is just that the to go boxes would go in the trash if you ate all the food. Most of the dishes does not come with side rice, so I had to order it separately. What we got: - Appetizer Sampler 3 fried mandoos, 2 yaki mandoos, 2 shrimp tempura, side of pickle radish It was delicious. I've had crispier/flaker shrimp tempuras. Wish it came with more shrimp tempuras. - Toppokki Yummy! Sauce is super red, but don't be scared.. It's not that spicy. Unless if you seriously cannot take any kind of heat, maybe avoid getting this. But I did not taste any strong spice in this dish. - Yaki Udon I loved this dish. I did not taste any spice in this dish. Very flavorful! - Spicy Chicken Served on a small layer of rice. I could taste a bit of spice in it. It was not spicy for me though. The spice is not overpowering to the point where you are not able to enjoy the ingredients in this dish. - Gimbap Delicious! I got 1 gimbap that was chicken & shrimp. Both was good. Overall I had a good experience. I wish they served a little more than what was given, for the price worth. Possible chance of going back for more.
Great authentic flavors. Chicken was a bit dry, but kimchi and bibimbap were great. Check out the attached store.Food: 4/5
Wow! I’ve been searching for an authentic Korean food experience for a long time in the small state of Wisconsin and I finally found it. After speaking with the owner I discovered that he takes pride in making his food authentic and spent 20+ years of his life in Korea. I order the spicy chicken, dak-gangjung spicy sweet sauce style and some mandoo on the side. Not only was it authentic but I was hands down some of the best Korean style fried chicken I’ve had in years! The owner was friendly and the food was great! Do yourself a favor and check out this gem of a restaurant. I can confidently say it is worth every penny and will be going back again and again.
I've never eaten at a Korean restaurant but love Asian food so we gave it a whirl. This is a quaint little place that probably does mostly takeout but there are 4 or 5 tables. You order at the counter and find your seat. We told the gentlemen at the counter we'd never eaten the food before and went with his recommendations. SO GOOD!! Highly recommend the bulgogi and fried kimchi! Food served fresh from the kitchen in a reasonable amount of time. Would definitely stop again if passing through as we are not locals. But I did get an order to take home for lunch tomorrow!
Best Korean food I've had since I was there in 1982- brings back memories - I had the beef bulgogi and kimchiFood: 5/5
Second time eating here. First time I got the lunchbox, it was good if a little expensive. This time... Walked in for lunch, couple other people there but not busy at all. The lady working the register seemed a little flustered. Ordered two lunch boxes and two waters, went and sat down. Took 40 minutes to get our food, in that time I noticed our table was dirty, tried other tables, all sticky. The chairs are dirty, a lady went to get a booster for her baby and came back telling her husband the boosters are too dirty to use! The floors dirty and even the walls are dirty! The booths are uncomfortable, make you kind of lurch forward. Food finally arrived but not the lunchbox sets we ordered just on a plate with a bowl of rice. My "extra spicy" bugolgi was totally mild but not bad tasting. The chicken katsu was paper thin... The breading was 10 times thicker than the chicken. This meal, with a tip cost $27! The water cup lips look like they have been chewed on by rats for the last decade. If you are a college student or someone who can't do anything in the kitchen this place might be acceptable, for me this place is unacceptable on too many levels.
I have been here often and this restaurant never disappoints. The food is made to order and it is my "special spot" where I get this AMAZING cuisine that isn't beer battered. It is fresh and filled with so many flavors. You want to savor every bite. My normal order is the medium Galbi box with three pieces of shrimp tempura. I love getting two cans of this melon drink that is SO delicious. The rice is also very edible, as opposed to some other restaurants in town, where it is very "dried" out. The rice is wonderful combined with the drippings from the Galbi. It is my "go to" when I am on my own for dinner. It is "a piece of Heaven" every time.
Really good tasted food!!! We ordered 5 dishes. Favorite is kimchi fried rice. Highly recommended. Will stop by next time soon.Food: 5/5
Honestly, I don't know whether it is fair or not to others that may be better off, but the attached picture worth of food was $63 dollars pre-tip for something that is the size of a frozen dinner. I have never been disappointed with the flavor of the food, but almost 10 years of visiting their business, the price has always been on the high side. Now that I have a Korean spouse and learned to cook Korean food myself, I have a better idea of how much they are marking up the food, and after today's portions, I do not see myself going back. At $13-$16 a plate, this did not feed 4 people as planned. At least it would have been nice to get an appropriate amount of rice.
