I was a patient at Douglas Gardens for over 10 years. Although they do have very dedicated and helpful front desk staff, case managers who go out of their way to help patients with a variety of challenges, an on site pharmacy that provides low cost medication, you still get what you pay for which is doctors who simply could care less about your welfare, will spend an average of five minutes per visit asking the same questions and will follow the same routine without ever questioning if perhaps a patient who is not improving needs a different approach. I was treated by a psychiatrist who simply decided that she was right, she knew better, she was not to be challenged, did not welcome any feedback that contradicted her diagnosis. When I express my frustration regarding lack of improvement and side effects she eventually made it a personal matter and decided to terminate me without notice, with no plan B, no refill, thus leaving me at risk of severe withdrawal syndromes. She refused to honor my last appointment and basically washed her hands of what might happen to me. This is a typical case of ego over duty that endangers patient's lives. DO NOT GO THERE. The savings are not worth the risks. I am filing a complaint against this doctor.
DO NOT GO HERE, IF YOU MUST AVOID DR. VIVIAN OLTI-WEISSBRUN!! Worst psychiatrist ever. You can not get a hold of the doctor at all even in an emergency during work hours. My father was there at a heightened stage of mania due to his bipolar I disorder. Not only did she suggest giving him whatever he wanted to keep him calm ie. marijuana but also sent him home with my mom instead of hospitalizing him as he should be. He showed clear signs of being aggressive and in a complete manic state, only to be lost outside and in need of police assistance to find him. Doctor could care less about her patients. Her non-professionalism was evident when doing the research afterwards unfortunately and finding that she has only 1 star reviews everywhere for not caring for her patients well-being at all. Medicare should do a better assessment of the doctors they are just throwing money at and patients are the ones suffering.
Helped to heal from major Depression with psychotic features through the monthly regimen of prescription medicines. I have been a client with them for years and their Social Rehabilitation program gave me the self-love and knowledge to put my shattered life back into a function and self-respect. My younger life brought me a lot of distorted thinking and loneliness. Through perseverance, I arose above the pain and set-back of a divorced and dysfunctional family. thank you Douglas Gardens for putting up with me, when I could not even put up with myself. They really care!!! James W.
I am thankful and grateful for Douglas Gardens. I enjoy going to the group therapy meetings and to the Drop-In Center too. The staff is very nice and helpful always. I recommend Douglas Gardens to anyone. Alex S.
I have been attending the Drop-In Center at Douglas Gardens for about a year. It is well attended and the administrator does a fine job. The activities are very enriching and I always enjoy them.
My wife was excited to go for her intake session and get treatment. She came back in tears. She told me how they spoke to her. Horrifying that people in the mental health industry can lack the most basic sensitivity. I guess they can always turn it around on their patients and explain that they are simply crazy. Such a shame.
Worst customer service, they need to be more human and understanding, because off course that you need help or you wouldn’t be there, they have a lot of rules and are not comprehensive or kind, I would give them a 0 star If i could, please do more research and don’t go there
Wrong diagnose Wrong medication causing me severe nerve damage Unprofessional too many deaths
I've been going since last month and so far I love their high quality of customer service and patient care. Thank you
Close to my home and very easy to get an appointment.
