The best part of stopping at Down East Travel Plaza, was that they were open. I stopped to get gas. I asked for $30 on pump 3 and told the clerk that I would come back in to get the final receipt. Although I only pumped $15, the clerk gave me a receipt of $30. I went out to the pump I was on and took a photo of the pump I used in case I needed to dispute the charge. A few days later I checked the charge on my card. It was for $30, so I am disputing it. Lesson learned...take a photo of your pump cost to make sure it matches the receipt given.
This is the new Esperanza Restaurant. Not worth the price, food is ok but the place is detrimental, floors are black with neon splashes, the tables are worn out and old and the ambiance is dark. Chips are extremely grease and rice and beans are flavorless. Check the pics, 3,50 for a soda and 14,50 for a burrito. This people are taking advantage of the situation inflate the prices, don't eat here, there are better and cheaper places
This place is dirty. Woman's bathroom is disgusting. Broken lock on only stall that works. Whole building smells like an outhouse in summer heat at a high traveled state park. Shelfs are 3/4 empty and half the product they do have is expired. As a female truck driver I prefer state roads and depend on small truck stops for bathroom breaks. This place is also breaking fire violations by not having all entrances to the building unlocked in case of emergency.
No access to the restroom inside at night for overnight truckers. Both front and back doors are locked with nobody in sight even though the business is open. As a female, this was upsetting. I'm not thrilled with sitting on a bucket when a real potty is within sight.
TRUCKERS BEWARE. NOT A TRUCK STOP. No bathrooms and rude staff. In response to the owners comment below, we were buying $40 worth of gas and were told the only bathroom was in the restaurant next door and that a purchase at that restaurant was required. You can tell from the comment below that I was 100% correct about rude.
This is a good place to park if you are running out of hours 1 rest room the food items are very overpriced trash the staff is rude 0 stars if I could
We made a pit stop here. The bathrooms were in pretty bad shape and we got the hell out right after. This place is apparently also a Greyhound stop and I feel bad for the people who have no choice but to wait here. I would definitely go to any other store or fast food joint than bother with this place.
In a word, a dump. Pumps don't accept the card, customer must go inside. Bathrooms have half their facilities out of order.
If anyone is looking for the Amazon Hub Locker - Lighthearted, it’s right in front of the main entrance of the gas station. The GPS will lie to you.. I hope this helps somebody.
