Doylestown Public Library

Not from PA, but was in the area and the kids wanted to check it out. Nice library with a great setup. Private areas for studying or small meetings, play and sensory areas for the kids. Plenty of tables for reading/computer work. The garden in the back is perfect and serene. The "bell section" outside by the entrance is a nice touch.

Great environment. Usually quiet when I've been there in the afternoon. Parking is never an issue when I'm there. Decent selection of books to choose from. You might have to wait a week or two for books to become available depending on what you are looking for.

Terrible accountability and leadership. This 'Library' has become a recreation center over the years. The concept of a Library being a quiet place to read is not the mission here. Open cell phone talking/speaker and individual loud talking is encouraged. To prove this notion, they went ahead and built a 'Quiet Cube' in the middle of Library that is glass and 12x12. If you want peace and quiet, now you have it in a small, glass cube. Otherwise, it's going to be a loud environment. Oh, and the 'tutors' that openly speak loud and are getting paid, should be ashamed. Remember, it's a Library or was.

The receptionist at the frontdesk was SUPER NICE in directing me where the guest computers were located & getting me change! They also have a Penny Press Machine for visitors & tourist it's not obscenely loud like you may initially think. Additionally, it's well lit and cozy if you need to gather your thoughts for a moment.

Where would Bucks County be without our Doylestown library? I’m writing this review because I really want to complement the employees that work there. I just came back to the library a couple months ago after years of just being too busy. The gal that helped me get a new card and explain everything to me was super nice. And I’ve had to call in with a couple questions and I always get very very nice people to help me. I took out cookbooks and never have time to to finish reading them and get the recipes and the lady was so nice over the phone to override and re-sign them out for me. Thank you to your kind staff. What a great place to go!

I cannot even put into words how amazing this library was? I haven't been in town waiting for a doctor's appointment with my daughter and just said let's go to the library that kills sometime I am so. Glad we did it was way beyond what I was expecting for a smaller town library like the world's town. I'm from California originally I've been to big libraries like the Boston library San Diego library and even the New York libraries so I've been to some pretty. Amazing libraries and this one. I cannot say no how great it was and the staff was probably the friendliest people I've ever met. I would like to live in in town like this.

Great small library with awesome selection of books and toys for little kids.

I want to like this library so much. However it is the loudest, most disrupting library I've ever been to. The adults aren't much better than the screaming children running amok.

The Doylestown library is really great. They have a diverse and balanced selection of books in a ton of formats, whether it be audio, regular, or large print. They always have rotating displays with featured books which are always interesting to look at and find new books to read. I can't speak on their DVD collection but they have that too. The space itself is really nice and accommodates a lot of people without feeling cramped. There's a nice garden in the back in case you need to get up and stretch but not pack up all your stuff. The tables are almost all conducive to working or reading on with a lot of outlets to plug in laptops or other devices. They're spaced out enough to feel private but it seems rare for there to not be at least one open table or seat; they have a group study room as well. Staff are great as well, always helpful and attentive. They have a lot of events for families that I can't speak on but sometimes they get a bit loud, which isn't a huge deal to me since you can just wear headphones but some people might take issue with. There's a water bottle refilling station but it's kind of tucked away in the back - it would be nice if there were one installed closer to the front. Overall, no qualms giving it a 5/5. Great place to work or study, or take out a book.

Awesome selection of books, and a very nice building. A great place to read or study. The staff however are why it is receiving a three star rating. In my experience with any questions I had they were not helpful whatsoever and were quick to not answer fully or listen. Dealt with an employee, who was incredibly disrespectful to me while I was here. It doesn't take much to be a kind person, consequently it seemed extraordinarily difficult for him.
