I had a terrible experience and came close to the end of life after my surgery. I felt fine leaving the hospital but within 2 days had 12 hours of gastric issues to be expected followed by 12 hours of major bleeding. I was scared and so called his office with a promise for a call back which never came. The next day, around noon, I got a call from a female who read me the mayo diet and asked if it stopped. I asked to be seen so an appointment made. When I went to the office the following Monday, I explained what had happened and that it left me unable to walk across my house without complete loss of breath, a charley horse feeling 24x7 in my left leg, weakness, fatigue, headache, pale skin, cold all the time, the list goes on. He barely acknowledged what I said when I requested a blood test and to check for a blood clot in leg. Fortunately, no clot but the bloodwork showed I was extremely anemic - as in need of a transfusion. He never called to discuss those results as he was done with me and really never cared in the first place. That was the attitude throughout our interactions which is sad. If a doctor no longer cares about their patients, they should get a new career in my opinion. I read the results and after a week of iron pills and a high iron diet, I returned to my new normal so survived no thanks to Dr. Somerville. Sad...
I'm not the type to write reviews but this one was well deserved. This surgeon and his staff has probably been the rudest, unorganized, and disappointing office I have ever came across. My mother had surgery performed by this surgeon and from the very beginning I couldn't even believe that he completely did not care of how we were feeling due to my mother having to undergo an emergency surgery one day to the next. But that was only the beginning of the current problem. After my mother's surgery I was not given no type of post op by him was simply told to "google post op instructions". Furthermore the date of my mother post op appointment some papers were given directly to Mr.Sommerville in order for him to complete so my mom to be cleared for work. Its been almost a month since and we were constantly being hung up on, have left countless messages to at least get an expected date for this paperwork to be filled out, even emailed their office manager about this situation and got no response back from neither Larisa who is the office manager nor Justin Sommerville. The office has no communication with their patients, once the office notices that you have called multiple times they simply don't answer or hang up.
I had surgery in December 2020. Yes during the pandemic. They made sure they followed all of the COVID guidelines. I appreciate Dr Somerville and his office staff Ms Larisa, they were awesome. They both were very professional. The communication was awesome. They checked on me while I was out for one whole month for recovery. Today I went for my 4 month check up and I have No complaints. Dr Somerville’s bedside manner was perfect! I would recommend Dr Somerville to complete your surgery.
Dr Somerville is by far a one in a million doctor. Above and beyond his excellent skill set, he is caring and kind. He is perfectionist with the care he gives his patients as well as the care he expects from hospital staff during Surgery and Inpatient Stay. Nurses, Anesthesia etc -- all spoke highly of him. He is by far one of the best Physicians I have ever had care for me or anyone in my family.
Dr. Somerville helped me when I had appendicitis. He helped figure out what was wrong when results weren't clear and got me into surgery before my appendix burst.
I highly recommend Dr. Somerville. He performed my appendectomy which was more complicated than expected since I had a perforated appendix. He is caring, patient, and attentive. This was easily the best experience I've ever had with a physician. I'm grateful he performed my surgery.
Dr. Somerville, did my husband's surgery in November 2020. He did a great job with my husband’s colovesical Fistula surgery. The office and staff offer great communication and professionalizing, we love nurse Larisa. We have access to Dr. Somerville, cell phone number for any questions or concerns. We highly recommend Dr. Somerville.

The care and kindness of the whole team was top notch and palpable. They were timely and efficient as well!
Love Dr. Somerville. He did my surgery almost 2 years now. No longer at St. Agnes, seems to have disappeared. Not sure where he went, nobody will tell me.
