Dr. Mahan Chehrenama - i Neuro Headache Specialist

Dr. Chehrenama's Teleneurology is extremely convenient for people like myself who travel often for work and find it difficult to make time for necessary doctor's visits. Because of Dr. C's Teleneurology, I was able to have my appointment while at the office and it did not interrupt my day! Dr. Chehrenama is extremely thorough and explains things so you can easily understand. Her bedside manner is comforting and it's obvious she cares about her patients. She's the best there is.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chehrenama's for over seven years. She is without a doubt, the best neurologist and one of the kindest human beings I have ever known. I have many different headache issues stemming from chiari malformation and she was the first to be able to diagnosis and help me get the treatment I so desperately needed. I have continued to have other issues related to chiari, including migraines, occipital neuralgia and intracranial hypertension and Dr. Chehrenama has been right there by my side, helping me and helping me with communicating with my other doctors as well. You will never find a more caring, competent doctor than Dr. Chehrenama, hands down. There are very few doctors that I trust and Dr. Chehrenama is at the top of my list. I consider her one of the most caring, special people in my life. 7/13/17 - This is an addition to my initial review. This is for Dr. Chehrenama's telemedicine appointments. I just finished having a VERY long, detailed and thorough telemedicine appointment and it was just like seeing her in person. She had my notes from our last in -person appointment and was ready and waiting for me through her portal. She continues to be the smartest and most caring neurologist I have ever been to and is wiling to work with my treating physicians. I am an incredibly complicated case, probably her most complicated patient and have been since 2009 and she has never given up on me. She comes up with ideas that no other doctor has and even through a computer screen could see things that I was trying to explain, without much success to other doctors. I can guarantee with 100% certainty that you will love her as a doctor and the caring person that she is. I have met no doctor like her ever and seeing her through her telemedicine portal is just like seeing her in person. She truly is the best, there is no one like her. Dr. Chehrenama is the BEST, most knowledgeable and most caring doctor ever.

Mahan Chehrenama is one of the best and most compassionate doctors I have had the pleasure of meeting. She provides top notch care and truly listens to her patients needs and concerns. Her office staff are kind and care about their patients' well being. The office is clean, organized and has a calm feel to it. I recently had a telemedicine consult with Dr. Chehrenama and I am so beyond grateful that I did. I've been dealing with chronic, daily, debilitating headaches for the past 7 years. I've been a patient of a well-known, revered neurologist in Pittsburgh for the past 5 of those 7 years. Despite this neurologist being known as a pioneer in the field of neurology, nothing recommended or prescribed ever worked. I tried upwards of 20 different medications preventative and cycle breakers as well as Botox injections and 2 of the newly FDA approved injections for migraines. Not one thing worked. Nothing gave me headache-free days and only one or two things helped take the pain down a notch or two, but still nothing significant. At the point that I had the consult with Dr. Chehrenama, I was feeling very discouraged. I felt like the neurologist's office I was a patient at had written me off because none of their "usual" methods worked on me. I felt like there weren't any more options available to me. And then I was told about Dr. Chehrenama. I was skeptical at first because of my experience with neurologists. I didn't know if she'd be able to offer me any new information or options and if she would even care about all that I'd been through. BOY, WAS I WRONG. Not only did Dr. Chehrenama offer me a more tailored diagnosis which is a huge deal!! than the vague "chronic daily migraine" I'd received before but because of her more tailored diagnosis, she was able to offer me a plethora of other possible treatment options. She offered me more information and options, SPECIFIC to my situation, in one consultation than I received in the past 7 years from a conglomerate of doctors. By the time that consultation ended, I didn't feel like I was at the end of my rope without any options anymore. I feel hopeful now. Hopeful that I could gain some quality of life back. Hopeful that any new and updated research will be at the forefront of her mind. I'm grateful to be heard and I'm grateful to have gotten connected to this doctor who never wants to stop learning and helping. Thank you, Dr. Chehrenama, for breaking the mold of stereotypical neurologists. Thank you for working so tirelessly to be accessible, informed, and compassionate. That's not something I've experienced in the medical world in the 7 years I've been suffering. Please - if you are suffering, and even if you are skeptical - push through it and contact Dr. Chehrenama. You won't be disappointed.

As a busy corporate mother, I often don't have any extra time in my day so Dr. Chehrenama's telemedicine service has been blessing. She takes her time with her patients which is so refreshing in this era of managed healthcare where most physicians just rush your visit.
