Dr. Rico is one of the best Doctors in Fort Wayne. I appreciate the many years of care he gave my family. Best wishes Dr. Rico!
So, I was just let go as Dr. Rico's patient, citing a breakdown of Dr./patient relationship. I need to ask where blame if any Dr. Rico and staff find in themselves? My PTSD/anxiety/depression had been discussed and was within my chart. Dr. and his staff need sensitivity training to effectively deal with and treat adults with these disorders. I may have a mental health disorder, but that doesn't make me stupid or crazy. I am in FULL agreement with Ms. Geiger a prior review. I suffer from PTSD and disabling anxiety. Dr. Rico and his staff are condescending and I no longer feel safe being treated by him. The last appointment I had with him November 2018 I felt the need to inform him that I am educated and to treat me as such. I left his office needing a xanax for my anxiety. Life happens and I forgot to find a new Dr. This morning May 2019 I called for an appointment; medicine refills and a cold. When I got to his office I was rudely informed that all I was being seen for was the cold. I told the nurse that I was nearly out of medicines. They still refused to renew vital meds like thyroid and COPD/asthma inhaler. Breathing must be overrated. I don't see why I couldn't be seen for my meds, I was there already. No labs or testing were ordered from my last appointment. In fact, I got the distinct impression that they were being spiteful due to the last visit. Again, I left so anxious I needed a xanax. Like Ms. Geiger, I also wonder what happened to Do No Harm.
I am left with the impression that in order to get good medical supervision and guidance, effective treatment and help, a thorough and consistent follow up from this `Dr`, you have to be perfect and never have made mistakes or lived and experienced a tainted human reality of bondage in addiction. Wow, he appears to be a good `Dr`, but judgement is and was handed to me, but in reality, judgement is placed and executed by a higher authority to those who judge me. What happened to the HIPPOCRATIC OATH?
This is a little update from my post one year ago.. So I wanna say I'm doing alot better thanks to a real doctor... I'm sorry to offend anybody that likes him.... But he is very uneducated about his practice. And his nurses can not check blood pressure for worth nothing... I was blessed being let go from his practice... It saved my life. No joke
I love dr rico he is a good doctor.
Been with him over 15 years.....Love HIM and his STAFF... Highly recommend him!!!!!!
Prompt, clear, friendly, and unlike many past experiences, they actually listen
