Dr. Peter Adams has been practicing general dentistry for over 28 years. He served as a general dentist in the United States Navy for 16 years and has been practicing in the Hampton Roads area for the past 12 years. His office is in Chesapeake Virginia, and his patients come from Chesapeake, Northeastern North Carolina, parts of Virginia Beach and throughout Hampton Roads.
While serving in the Navy, Dr. Adams received extensive training in all specialties of dentistry and completed a one year program in comprehensive dentistry. This training and experience has allowed him to become very proficient in the treatment of a very wide variety of dental problems, including root canal therapy, wisdom tooth extraction, complex tooth restorations, crown, bridges, gum disease, dentures, extensive teeth grinding (bruxism), full moth reconstruction and many other restorative, cosmetic and preventative dental services to help his patients attain the best possible dental heath. Dr. Adams has also received training in implant placement and restoration which is an amazing and very dependable treatment for replacing missing teeth.
Dr. Peter Adams has worked as an instructor at the University of Georgia School of Dentistry. For the past 14 years, he has worked as a part-time instructor at the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry.
Dr. Adams gets to know his patients, and his philosophy of care places a strong emphasis on helping his patients learn the proper things to do to prevent dental disease. Prevention. Prevention. For the past 22 years, Chesapeake Virginia has been home to Dr. Peter Adams and his family. All of his children have graduated from Chesapeake schools. He enjoys taking continuing education courses in dentistry. He loves time on the water and anything that involves history, and he is learning to play the guitar. Dr. Adams likes to travel and go fishing. He is an active member of the Noblemen and the Ruritans, and he is interested in any endeavor which helps people in the community.
