Dr. Brody learned the approach to healthy living from his father, a nutritionist, and so it is mainstream medicine to him. He didn’t realize his desire to become a naturopathic physician until his experience as a teacher’s assistant at a local high school. It was this experience working with special needs children that led him to his new passion- helping people. He was disheartened seeing his students on a plethora of medication with only 25% of them actually gaining any benefit. This was the spark that prompted him to return to school and later attend Naturopathic Medical School at the University of Bridgeport.
During this time he studied under Dr. Peter D’Adamo learning the tenets of his Blood Type and GenoType diets along with Generative Medicine. Dr. Brody completed his residency at The University of Bridgeport Center of Excellence in Generative Medicine. Dr. Brody Specializes in Digestive disorders (Gastroenterology) and Autoimmune Diseases (Rheumatology). He has been witness to many health improvements in patients that this has become a very natural occurrence. Dr. Brody has assisted a multitude of patients with varying medical conditions: Digestive Symptoms, Thyroid & Autoimmune Diseases, Hormone disorders, to name a few. He welcomes collaboration with your other health care providers to integrate the best-individualized care for you which has yielded in many safely weaning off medications.
Dr. Brody’s practice is on the cutting edge of natural medicine. The thoughts, diagnoses, and treatment strategies are one-of-a-kind. Based in science with years of clinical experience – Dr. Brody shares his expertise in using food as medicine. When you set a basic foundation of healthy living, it's rather amazing how complaints and problems seem to disappear.
Dr. Brody is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Connecticut Association of Naturopathic Physicians, founding board member and current President of a specialty board called the Institute of Naturopathic Generative Medicine and most importantly is an Eagle Scout.
Dr. Brody uses herbs, vitamins, minerals, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, naturopathic manipulation and of course diet and lifestyle modifications to treat the person holistically. When he isn’t seeing patients, he can be found “walking his talk.” He enjoys practicing aikido and mountain biking; all geared to his Blood Type O Positive, Secretor, Hunter.
