The stars are just the beginning... Drake Planetarium is Cincinnati's planetarium where science and learning are fun for kids and adults alike!
Drake Planetarium & Science Center has been providing science education since 1982 to children throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The Drake Planetarium's seating capacity is 70 visitors per show and programs are available for audiences ranging from pre-school age to senior citizens. During the school year, we offer weekday shows for school-children and home-school families. In addition, we have evening and weekend public planetarium shows monthly that are geared towards the entire family. During the summer, we have planetarium shows that coordinate with our half- and full-day Summer Camp Program. We're also available as a field-trip option for day-care centers and other summer camp programs.
Our mission is to provide a wide range of supplemental, active learning science programs that stress the learned use of higher-order thinking skills necessary to succeed in today's society. We are committed to offering age-appropriate, hands-on, fun oriented student participation in lab experiences that stress higher order thinking skills.
STEM Summer Camps, after-school STEM programs, Outreach in the Classroom, Traveling Explorer Shows (portable planetarium), full-dome public planetarium shows, star shows, & special events (speakers, laser shows, etc.).
