The Christian life is not always easy. Sometimes it is very difficult. As we grow in maturity and responsibility the battle becomes more intense. The enemy of our soul does not give up easily, and the greater a threat we become to him the more intensely he will fight. The good thing, you are not alone. The GREAT thing, we do not have to struggle just in our own power. We are "strong in the Lord and in his mighty power" (Ephesians 6:10), and it is in his power that we resist the devil. James writes, "Submit yourselves, then, to God; resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Only as we are submitted to God and moving in his power can we prevail. But in God's power we are "more than conquerors" (Romans 8:37). If we obey God, "the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet" (Romans 16:20).
