Appointment in SF. Didn't want to hassle driving or paying ridiculous parking fee. Has to be about 7 or 8 years last time we used BART to get to the city. Learned all about Clipper online, set up Gpay acct., figured round trip fare. Daily parking is $3.00, for now, take pix of your space, pay by machine after using Clipper on your phone to go through gate, no more paper tickets. Or you can buy a Clipper card. The booth attendants are very helpful at the stations we stopped! Parking spaces are narrow, good luck with a truck, plenty of wide ADA spaces. Bathrooms at the station could use some help though. Have traveled 3 times now, the 1st time we rode a somewhat brand new car. 2nd time was earlier in the morning, about 6:30 a.m., more people, of course, but this car was hella old. Never ride the last car as you get whipped around! Felt pretty safe, people mostly looking at their phones. Very fortunate to have this mode of transportation to get around. So much taken for granted after all these years.
Yes I’m here! I didn’t wait for any train and just hop in. Nice day it is?! Until the BART boot us out at Fruitvale yes it’s a pretty good day.
The Dublin/Pleasantan/BART station is located at 5801 Owens BLVD in Pleasantan, CA. As of all BART stops and trains one must stay aware and alert. This station is the last stop heading east from S. F. and stops in Dublin/Pleasantan This train runs every 20 minutes. Lots of parking in front. Restrooms are male/female and are in need of a proper cleaning. The staff is helpful and nice.
Surveillance cameras are not useful if you lose your bike locked outside. They never check the footage. Be aware of bike pickers and no tracking.
Being the first stop, you are mostly sure to get a seat. Easy access & well planned structure. You can manage with carpool parking before 8:30am.
decent station, some TOD and lots of parking. situated in he middle of the freeway so it gets loud
You need to buy the card $3 value and had to reload it. There is no concept of ticket from a -b. You need to calculate it yourself based on distance. Your card should have enough credit
Safe area. Free parking on Sundays!
This is one of the better BART stations; relatively clean and safe. This review is more directed at the entire experience. A couple things stick out to me after riding BART every workday over the past month to commute to SF. First, the noise of the tracks can be very jarring whether it is a totally packed train or you're sitting in there alone it can sound like very loud demonic screeching. I wear headphones in both ears and have my music at full blast and I can still hear the tracks. Second, buying tickets is not a simple affair if you are relatively inexperienced with commuting on trains like me and I've noticed the system almost seems to be intentionally designed to waste your money. It took me forever to figure out how much to pay for parking and where to park. I learned the hard way when I unknowingly parked on the permit side of the lot and got a $75 ticket for leaving my car there for 5 hours which floored me. You also need cash to refill the tickets if you don't have a clipper card which is mystifying because you can purchase the ticket with a credit card. This may seem like a small and obvious thing to someone familiar with public transit but after a 45 minute, stinky, screeching train ride I just want to leave the station so I end up wasting money on an unpleasant experience. I pay $13.60 for a round trip ticket which just feels steep to me considering the condition of some of the trains. It is a long ride so I get why they would charge that but it still bothers me. With only a month of consistent use I can say with conviction that it needs major improvements considering how many people use it on a daily basis. EDIT Just buy a clipper card and refill it if you plan on using this train for more than one trip. It's easy once you get used to it.
Used this station for three weeks during a business trip. Was never approached for money, had no problem finding parking. Trains are comfortable, clean, and run on time. BART is definitely better than dealing with Bay Area traffic and finding parking in town.
