This is a really beautiful park even though it's a little small. But, hey, it's tucked right in the middle of everything going on in Penn Hills. There's a few pavilions, and it would be a great spot for a hammock day or a picnic. I have mainly visited for the skatepark, which is pretty solid. The ramps are metal, and there aren't really any small transitions to warm up on, but there are plenty of features to have fun with. The rails are waxed, which kinda sucks, but it's overall a 7/10 for me, which isn't bad for a metal-featured park. There is plenty of shade for hot days, too. Dog-friendliness: Bring them, but keep them on a lease, please!
This is a beautiful little playground and skate park area in Penn Hills. The skate area is near the police station/municiple bullings, and there's a road down the hill next to the skate park area that leads to the playgrounds and pavilion area. There is plenty of open grass and woods, small wildlife and plenty of deer are commonplace, making it a welcoming and natural environment. There is a road that leads through the entire park, however it was turned into a dead end with the construction of a guardrail blocking the road just past the portable restroom. It has one bathroom in the park area, and warning: THE SITE IS NOT ACCESSIBLE THROUGH THE LOWER END VIA JOAN DRIVE! The only way into the lower park area with a vehicle is the top entrance via Duff Road near the police station at the skate park entrance! Playground: There is a decent amount of children's playground structures and a good sized pavilion Restrooms: There is a handicap accessible portable bathroom on site near the playground areas Dog-friendliness: There are no signs about prohibiting dogs in the playground area Picnic area: There is plenty of well kept grass and nice pavilion with picnic tables
It's a small skate park up top. The actual playground is down the hill from the skate park portion. Attracts a lot of teens and dog walkers Playground: The playground is down the hill from the skate park. You will not see it standing at the skate park.
Too hilly and not enough playground equipment for kids. Penn Hills is very strict about closing the park at Dusk, sometimes just before. Skate Park on the top half off Rodi Rd is what Duff is known for. But in a relatively crowded suburban area, it serves as a decent place to get kids out and play or have a nice picnic gathering. Playground: Not too impressive and seperated by a large hill. Dog-friendliness: No off leash area but good enough to walk dog while kids play. Picnic area: 1 large area with pavilion and lots of tables, electric hookups and I think there is a grill. One small one on opposite side with just 1 table.
I've been cruising around here a lot since I got my new electric bike! Really fun, great community park with a skate park, playground, shelters Etc
A nice little park. Skatepark, playground, and several pavilions.
I have not booked this park yet, but it has everything everything that I was looking for. Playground: It is suitable for all ages. Picnic area: It is nice for a small gathering.
The only reason this place gets four stars as opposed to five is the sub optimal bathroom situation. Other than that, it's perfect.
Me & the kids & Mom & Dad of my grandchild enjoyed the park !!!!
KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR KIDS PLEASE. That said, this park is awesome. There is plenty of flat space for kids who are beginning to bike or skate, and ramps for the older ones to zip down. The skate pad is definitely a hangout for unsupervised teenagers, though. If you keep following the road that goes past the skate pad, there's a nice quiet playground for younger kids. The whole park is a good spot to play Pokemon Go.
