About

The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) provides regular-route public transit and STRIDE paratransit services in Duluth, Hermantown, Proctor and Superior, WI.

Description

Customer Service - The DTA takes great pride in offering the highest level of customer service. Bus Operators are trained to provide assistance to passengers and Information Operators can be reached between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to answer route and schedule questions. Passengers can provide customer feedback using the online comment form or call one of the Information Operators.

Transit Hubs - There are several major transit stops within the DTA system. These locations offer amenities for passengers such as Transit Vending Machines (TVM) and detailed system maps. The Duluth Transportation Center (DTC) has an information desk where you can purchase bus passes and ask questions. Most Transit Hubs also have passenger hand schedules for the entire transit system.

STRIDE Service - STRIDE - Special Transit RIDE, is dial-a-ride transportation service for qualified individuals with disabilities in the Twin Ports. It operates in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). STRIDE operates within 3/4 of a mile from the DTA’s regular routes. STRIDE fare is $3 during peak hours and $1.50 during off-peak hours and weekends.

Accessibility - All regular-route buses are equipped with “kneeling steps” and retractable ramps for easy boarding. This makes buses accessible for all passengers including those with wheelchairs, scooters, strollers, walkers, crutches, and canes.

Port Town Trolley - Discover Duluth on the DTA Port Town Trolley! For a modest $.50-cent fare, visitors can tour Canal Park, Bayfront Park and downtown Duluth. The Port Town Trolley runs every 30 minutes from the first Sunday in June until Labor Day between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Trolley service on the Fourth of July runs from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. Trolley Day passes are only $4.00!

Bike & Ride - DTA buses are equipped year-round with front-end bicycle racks. No additional fare is required for transporting bikes. Passengers are responsible for loading and unloading their bicycles.

Destination Signs - Passengers waiting at bus stops can identify which bus they need to take by reading the rotating “route and destination sign” displayed above the windshield of the bus. These rotating signs indicate the route number the bus travels on before arriving downtown, along with the route number it will travel after passing through downtown Duluth.

Digital Schedule Signs - Some DTA shelters and Transit Hubs feature Digital Schedule Signs. These signs provide real-time information on bus arrivals and departures. They can also display service announcements.

DTA Plan & Ride - Passengers can plan their entire trip with this user-friendly feature. Get information on routes, times and transfer points.

WebWatch - WebWatch uses real-time GPS data to show where the bus is along the route.
