Dunderbak's opened November 11, 1977 in Lehigh Valley Mall, Whitehall, PA. We are the longest continuously operated and independently owned business in this mall. Over the years, the restaurant has grown from 65 seats to 145 seats. The menu has grown from 2 pages to 5 and the beer menu has grown from 2 drafts to 12 drafts and over 100 bottled beers! In 1992, we were the first restaurant in Lehigh Valley to go non-smoking. In 2007, we won the Pennsylvania Restaurant Association's Excellence in Food Safety Award.
Dunderbak's Market Café is a German/American restaurant featuring Gourmet Soups, Specialty Sandwiches and Wurst with German/American Haus Platters such as Sauerbraten, Weinerschnitzel & Good Luck Port & Kraut. There are 12 draft beers featuring the Spaten beers from Munich, Germany and over 100 bottled beers from around the world.
