About

DuPage Habitat for Humanity® is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International®, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.

Description

DuPage Habitat for Humanity® is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International®, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. DuPage Habitat for Humanity® serves DuPage County, Illinois and works in partnership with people in need to build modest and affordable housing. The houses are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest. In July 2011, DuPage Habitat for Humanity opened a ReStore location in Addison, a facility dedicated to helping the environment by repurposing household items and construction materials that would otherwise be thrown out and end up in a landfill. Habitat for Humanity ReStore's main goal is to reuse, recycle and repurpose.

Mission

The mission statement of DuPage Habitat for Humanity® is to provide opportunities for home ownership to limited income families or individuals, and to put the reality of substandard housing in the minds and hearts of DuPage residents in such a powerful way that unattainable home ownership for these families or individuals becomes politically, socially and religiously unacceptable.

"The Addison Habitat For Humanity ReStore is a locally operated home improvement store that sells affordable building materials along with new and gently used furniture, appliances and household goods at discounted prices."

They had beautiful pianos. You can also find doors of various sizes. I purchased large scale framed art pieces for $10 each assuming they were from hotels. Mainly got them for the frames as large picture/art frames are super expensive! The furniture here is also much cheaper than the Chicago location.
Just dropped off brand new Pottery Barn items that were left over from our bathroom remodel. Honestly, cannot believe how rude the workers were. They acted like they were doing me a favor for taking these brand new items that were still in the box. And, then 'scolded' me for not getting in line properly. Honestly, will never donate here again.
The price of a Lazboy chair was $100 more than the new one at the Lazboy showroom. Tried to request the associate who was helping me but suddenly one lady who was half shaved head jumped in between us and said she is the store manager and they can't lower the price and when I tried to show her my phone with the same chair at Lazboy with price $229 she was very rude and impolite. I am not sure how can such people work where there is interaction with customers. I asked another staff member who brought some stuff that my friend bought. I asked him what is the name of the lady who is your store manager. He simply said we don't have any lady store manager. I shall never ever step into that store where rude people work.
Friendly staff, some cool things but went on a Saturday and many things I liked were marked as sold. They have additional discounts on items that aren’t new arrivals. I may come back to check my luck another day.
We have dropped off brand new items that we did not sell at our garage sale, last time was 3 years ago, due to Covid-45. This time they would not take any of the brand new and in the boxes lighting fixture, and many LED fixtures. They will not answer the phones as staff is limited, but no lighting needed. We gave many items to a couple that were missionaries from Africa, all they wanted. The rest we took to Salvation Army and same results no lighting fixtures at all. We did drop them at our local Good Will location in Westchester, Illinois, go there soon for amazing deals.
Went in and bought a headboard and paint with my mom. Everyone there was so helpful and nice! They wonderful girl that helped us even helped carry it out to our car even though she didn't have to. We will absolutely be back!!!
Great bargains and worth a visit. I did not find anything but it has a good selection of doors, lamps and used power tools.
Place only take appliances under 10year old. This location do not accept tv donations. If you are doing home improvements then this place accepts donations to assist with that.
If you're remodeling your house this is the perfect place but you have to visit it often because they get new stuff in all the time staff is very helpful
Not as organized as the Rockford store and the cashier tried to over charge me by 10$. My bill was 8.81 and he told me $18.81... honest mistake or...? Not a good vibe in this store.. not sure I will ever return...
