Nov. 8, 2022 Update: I'm upgrading the Duvall USPS from one star to four. Nearly all their staff have changed. They're now extremely friendly and happy to help. A couple of times they went way out of their way to be helpful. I'm not sure if their phone is getting answered more reliably haven't tried and the masking is now moot unfortunately, if you ask me. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with their turn-around in servuce. Service is generally terrible to poor. They refuse to take Covid protections: they don't enforce mask mandates, and even their employees don't all properly mask up. Since they don't home-deliver to many customers, there is no alternative--you must enter the service area to pick up packages. My immune system is compromized, so I'm forced to risk my health just to get mail service. They often don't answer their phone, even when I've dialed repeatedly for an hour. One employee is very nice. The other two are gruff and act as if they resent doing their work. Apparently they have no accountability for the quality of their work. It's outrageous that I have to rely on them but they are rude, hardly ever answer the phone, and refuse after many polite requests to protect customers from Covid.
Updated review: The post office has gotten much better. They now have time set aside on Saturday mornings for parcel pickup and their wait time for sending or picking up mail has significantly reduced most days. If you get there close to 4pm, do be prepared to wait some as most everyone is getting off work around that time. While I still have the complaint that they won't deliver to my living address, they have been able to tie my home address to the mailing address, so my mail rarely is getting misplaced or lost as well as if it's misaddressed, they are still able to find my PO Box. Lastly, an employee who had been incredibly unprofessional to me a few times has not worked there in a while. Previous review: Not exaggerating. This is the worst post office I have ever had to use in a city I've lived in. The lines to pick up or send items are always 10-15 customers long and most of the employees that work the counter have poor multi tasking and time management skills. Every now and again the post master will pop out to ask if anyone has packages to pick up, which is helpful, but get ready to spend at least 45 minutes trying to run errands here. Forget next day delivery because they can take up to two days to unload their delivery trucks before you actually can get your package. I can't even get packages delivered to my address because apparently I live too close to the post office? I have friends in other nearby cities that are in the same living situation and have never had to go to the post office to pick up their mail. I also work a 9-5 position so forget picking up packages myself. I have to ask my partner to pick them up otherwise they send them back after 5 days and all because they won't deliver to my living address. I've been snapped on by two different employees a few times over the last couple years over these situations. The only good thing about this place is a young man who must be a new employee because he has been the only helpful one so far with finding "lost" or "misplaced" packages.
I would give zero stars if it was an option. I've been several times to the post office to complain about getting notifications saying packages were had attempted to be delivered, yet no one knocked on the door nor left a slip in my mail box. The postman throws may packages from the street to my porch, we have a longer walkway to our front door. Or doesn't even get the package to the front door, as you can see below. This is completely unacceptable and the postmaster doesn't care. Like I said, I have gone numerous times to complain about this and have complained online to USPS HQ.
The post office was closed in the middle of a day without any explanation. I visited today Monday, 3pm. The door was closed with a sign "Sorry, we are closed. Please call again". I had to turn around.
This place works well if you want your mail to be kept track of and delivered to you. I have good experiences with this place in particular, as opposed to other U.S. postal offices. You can also send stuff to other people. We can all work together to revive the ancient art of letter writing if we could just stop getting addicted to
Received a text notification telling me that my item was being held at the Duvall post office at my request. Interesting since I never did request that. I have purchased several items from this sender and they have all been delivered to me at my residence. I go to the post office to get my item. Immediately met with attitude, which made no sense since I did not bring one with me, wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt first. I informed the lady that I got notified my item was here being held at my request and asked why it was since I never asked for that. She snapped at me and told me that's the only option the driver has to select your telling me the ONLY option the driver has to select is "hold at post office per customer request", there isn't a "delivered" option? and that she will need to look for the item. She comes back after about 5 minutes, asks me if I receive regular mail at "my" residence? I said yes. After searching for another few minutes, she then asks for the tracking#, which I though was odd it was the first time she was asking fort it, and I provided it to her. She gasped and said "agh that's international" and walked off. Took another 5 minutes then she came back and said the driver still has the item. I asked then why was I notified the item was here being held at my request? She wasn't able to answer that and said they would call me when the driver gets back. Why are people and companies not holding themselves accountable for mistakes? Why don't you just admit that you lost my item while only being less then a mile away from my home instead of copping out and saying the driver has it. If I would've received an apology and was told we will do what we can to make this right, then maybe you'd get 2 stars. First time in a long time I have been treated like an idiot directly to my face. Really wish could give zero stars!
They dropped off packages that we collected from our front door, came back 30 seconds later, noticed the packages were brought inside I wasn't aware they had more to drop off, stuck the "We missed you" on the door and ran off. I saw them on the camera, ran back down and they were gone. it's like they don't want you to get your items in time for Xmas.
Unfortunately no zero star option...This post office is a joke, and I'm surprised that there is not more internal audits happening there. Not one single time our packages are delivered on time as planned. When looking at the USPS tracking info, every single time they do not deliver for the silly reason: "Retrieved from full parcel locker", when the parcel locker is EMPTY!!!! Just a good reason to make you go to the post office to pick up...
We once purchased "registered mail" and the mail never reached its destination. We too frequently get other people's mail delivered to our box. Today, the flag was up and outgoing mail was still in the box but the mail was delivered I put the outgoing mail out at 10 am before we get a delivery. We have a security system and I saw on camera our mail carrier throwing a Macy's parcel from about 10 feet away.
Packages are routinely not delivered. We were home last weekend but the guy was too lazy to get out of his vehicle and just left a “could not deliver due to no secure location” note. I have scheduled redelivery twice. Nothing. Now I may have to take off of work to get my package. This isn’t the first time either.
