Pure, Natural, Raw, Unfiltered wildflower honey
We currently have 7 beehives which are located on 3 different properties in Chesapeake. Our bee yards are located in 23320, and the other two in the 23322 zip code area. We practice a chemical free sustainable environment in our beekeeping. Honey bees travel up to 3 miles to collect pollen and therefore we can not claim it as organic honey as we don't require our worker bees to tell us what flower they are working! This is also why we call it wildflower honey, because we don't know exactly what plants they are pollinating. We utilize the crush and strain method of extracting honey, typically once in the spring and once in the fall. We filter the honey through 2 different size strainers, mainly to catch the antennae, legs, and other things that you do not want in your honey. We do not heat the honey, nor do we add anything to it. It is raw, filtered, unheated, unprocessed, pure, natural local honey!
A teaspoon a day of local honey is thought to help build up a body's immunity to the local pollen and in turn reduces one's allergic reaction to seasonal allergies.
We sell our honey in 1 pound plastic bottles for $12 a pound.
