The Eagle Ca Excursion Train operates out of the new Elgin Depot in Elgin, Oregon (20 miles north of La Grande on Oregon Highway 82, also known as the Wallowa Lake Highway and a portion of the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway, www.hellscanyonbyway.com). Most train rides depart from the Elgin Depot and travel down the Grande Ronde River, across the bridge at Rondowa, and a few miles up the Wallowa River. A couple of trips go all of the way to Minam, Most excursions include lunch, served on the train during the ride.
