East Grand Fire Protection District #4 covers the towns of Winter Park, Fraser, and Tabernash, Colorado. The area of coverage, intersected by U.S. Hwy 40, spans from the top of Berthoud Pass to Red Dirt Hill and from the Continental Divide to Byers Peak.
East Grand Fire Protection District was formed in 1968. At that time, we had metal buildings for stations with a couple of trucks and a handful of vehicles at each station. Sixteen years later we moved into our current locations at Highway 40 in Winter Park, CO and 60 County Road 526 in Tabernash, CO

In 2012 EGFD responded to 207 incidents including a total of 3356 Firefighter hours. Also, in 2012 Firefighters and Officers attended 819 trainings accounting for 3815 hours of instruction.
