It was our first time dining at East Side Mario’s and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was: the unlimited bread, salad/soup was phenomenal. We had most of our pasta leftover and took it home! Our kids devoured the cheese tortellini and a pizza for just $2 each because it was Tuesday- unbelievable value! It is a great place to bring your family, kids are most definitely welcome, and all of the servers were really nice and very helpful. Allergen advice: they have a completely Peanut free menu also, which is very reassuring as our child has a peanut allergy.
It’s not a authentic Italian restaurant. But it’s a great option to be close of authentic Italian food options. Great space, services and food. Everything is ok. Prices has the average cost. I believe $20 to $30 will be fine for almost every people who eat well. Parking: It is in the same place and you can park easily.
Good place to go for $$ worth. Paying for an appetizer and an entree is food for 2 meals, especially with the unlimited salad and bread. their caeser salad is my love and the spinach dip is great
This restaurant is very expensive and food is not good at all. Food is worth maybe half the price. Service is super slow as well. Don’t really get all the good reviews in here. First time I ordered Delivery and they messed my kids order it was pasta with meatballs. They forgot the meatballs but billed everything. Second time I went in person. Service was terrible. Restaurant was almost empty but it took them 10-15’ to acknowledge the long lane that was building up. I ended up ordering a pizza to go. Please look at the tiniest basic cheese pizza for which I was charged over $24.
Yesterday for dinner, our family went over to East Side Mario's in Waterloo! We had a great time and enjoyed some good food!! I had their scallop carbonara with the side of Caesar salad and fresh bread!! Thanks to the East Side Mario's staff in Waterloo for a great meal and serving our family dinner. Food: 5/5
We were seated at a table that had not been cleaned. The fork and knife at that table with dirty food all over it had not been moved for all of our dinner service. Instead of it being cleaned, we were moved to a new table. Three dinner parties were sat at that table, each time it was asked to be cleaned, they were moved to a new table saying it was reserved, of which, it had not been cleaned. The new table we were moved too behind it had dirty silverware, food on forks, and dirty napkins. It seemed that there was pasta sauce on the one and white chunks on the back of the other. Plates had hair, red sauce and debris on them. The new plates we were received, as seen in the photo, also had sauce on plates and black debris on top. Finally when it came down to us getting our food it was done within an efficient manor however there was a hair in one of the takeout boxes from one of our meals. I had called issuing my concerns and was told I would receive an email for a "voucher" yet had not received. Regardless I would use it at a different location. Overall, service was terrible, one plate was decent, I highly do not recommend eating at this establishment.
Was very loud, the food was good but I did not appreciate the all-you-can-eat soup running out. Not a location I will be visiting again.Food: 4/5
I understand you are busy BUT... WWT??? We waited 45 mins for a soup and a water refill NOW that is not acceptable! During this time we were delivered 1 water 1 italian stone fruit iced tea, 3 loaves of bread,2 salads while the 3 tables of People around us, that sat down 10 mins after us, had their bread, drinks and alcoholic drinks, their salads, appetizers and their mains before we even had our soup! Then soup came with a teaspoon to eat it with versus a soup spoon. WWT What Was That??? Then our mains came to us lukewarm. So I ordered another salad and my husband ordered a cheese cake instead of having as he puts it: "warm-ISH noodles" I ordered the italian tea with stone fruit ONLY to be served an over sweetened tea WITHOUT stone fruit in it. WWT What was that? And as for the restaurant part we were sitting at a table with 4 chairs I sat in 3 to avoid the bright spot lights reflecting in my glasses and when our mains came they moved the tv to then have a spot light shine in my glasses again. Needless to say I am giving a 2 star review only because the food flavor profiles were on par and my GF noodle dish was made as requested! Since when does a bowl of salad comes without tongs? So how do you serve yourself and others at your table? So to put it mildly We went out of our way to support our restaurant/wait staff industry and we both looked at each other and said I would have rather ordered in and gotten hot food or at least a quieter place to enjoy our date nite. Kaylie B was our server and I want to say thanks to her because she was very kind and that goes a long way in the restaurant business but she just needed to make sure our food was served HOTeven the plates were lukewarm! Was at ESM tonight for my granddaughter's birthday party. There were upwards of 20+ people and our waitress, Isabelle, was amazing! Kept our salads and bread boards filled, drinks topped up, and checked in on us frequently while we waited for our meals. The building itself needs a little work; we noticed paint chipping, a hole in the ceiling in the party room, and so on. Pretty much what you could expect to see in a building as old as this one. Food was okay, the Hell's Kitchen Chicken seemed saltier and less spicy as in previous visits but still tasty. But the star of the show was definitely Isabelle! One of the best servers we've had in a very long time.
nice and spacious! super welcoming and everyone was so so friendly, this location is bigger than most that i’ve been too and has a second area on a different level. service was quick, bread was good and salad was amazing !!! the cheese is the best part ofc though!!
