Dr. Justin Raatz is a native of the midwest. Dr. Raatz received his undergraduate degree from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. He attended medical school in Des Moines at Des Moines University, College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Raatz has had many extensive externships including Beth Israel at Harvard in Boston, MA and Yale/New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. He completed surgical residency through Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO and joined a practice in Western Nebraska. After four and half years in Nebraska, he and his young family decided to return to Iowa to be closer to relatives. He is thrilled to be back in Iowa!
Dr. Raatz is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery, member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Raatz has completed advanced training in INBONE, Salto Talaris and Zimmer/Biomet Trabecular metal Total Ankle Replacement, ankle arthroscopy, arthroscopic ankle fusion, ankle ligament and tendon reconstruction following sports injury, external fixation & complex lower limb deformity correction. He has held various leadership/officer positions in private practice experience including, Vice Chief of Staff & Chairman of Surgery Department. In his free time, he chooses to spend time with his family, play a round (or two) of golf and enjoys hunting.
