Sophie Carmen Eckhardt-Gramatté had to reestablish her career numerous times for the following reasons, as no one played her music: 1. Russian in Berlin during WWI. 2. Listed in the Juden ABC in the 1930s. 3. Moving to Vienna. 4. Moving to Winnipeg. She could not perform. Walter Gramatté's art was considered degenerate during the 1930s, and had to be hidden.EMAIL:
