The room was very clean and we were right next to a Dairy Queen and very close to the Gettysburg war monument. The owners were very nice people that greet you with a smile. The ice machine was nice and updated. The water pressure is also really good. We enjoyed our stay. Rooms: Very clean Food & drinks: Next to a lot of different restaurants
Our visit to this Econo Lodge was by far the dirtiest experience I have ever had with a hotel. Upon getting to our room I was greeted with gnats and flys buzzing all over the place, sticky residue on the night stands, the sheets had burn holes and all sorts of dark hairs spread throughout. The room smelled musty, and worst of all there was a stain on the fitted sheet that looked very much like a certain reproductive fluid. Needless to say I did not stay the night, and we were granted a refund upon request. I will say however that the front desk clerk was reasonably helpful and as accommodating as she could be considering the situation.
We have stayed at this location on two occasions. After our most recent stay, we were very happy to see upgrades to the rooms. Getting rid of the carpets makes the room seem more sterile and clean. They let us check in a little early and the man and lady working there were very pleasant. We definitely recommend it and will be back.Rooms: 5/5
Have stayed here before, clean for the most part, cheaper rates. Office staff was pleasant. Shower head came off in my hand, my junior plumber skills came in handy. The next guest will probably get cracked in the head with it when they turn the shower on. I think Helen Keller is the chambermaid, she missed a pile of toenail clippings someone left on the nightstand. For a second I thought it was Econolodges version of a continental breakfast.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS PLACE. If I could give them a 0 I would. Me and my husband booked a week long road trip. This was one of our stops. We had to cancel last minute because of complications with his work schedule. We booked all of our stays with the same cancellation policy. This was the only place that would not let us cancel or give us our money back. We would feel different about it if everyone else told us no.. but they all let us cancel. The staff was absolutely rude. When I asked to speak with the general manager, they pretty much told me “I can do their job as good as them, I know what they will tell you.” Absolutely awful customer service. Paid for 3 nights, stayed 0. Their motto is “take it or lose it” as they told us.
Family run accommodations. These people are really nice. We make an annual trek from Canada to this motel. Clean and well maintained. Miss the little breakfast snacks they provided a few years back.Rooms: 5/5
The cleaning and maintenance staff were very helpful. The manager of the hotel is a totally different story! We had to cancel our 3rd night due to family emergency. Manager said he couldn't refund unless contacted by Expedia, then ran and hid when Expedia called. We walked down to office. Had Exp. call him. We stood right there on hold with Expedia while they talked to the manager on another line! Everything was settled & we were to get our refund. The next week Expedia says they contacted the hotel and we were not getting our refund, after WE STOOD RIGHT THERE WHILE EXPEDIA TALKED TO THE MANAGER AND SAID THAT OUR REFUND WAS ALL SET. We were also refused a receipt when we checked out! Shady and dishonest, and a lot of passing the buck between Expedia and Econo Lodge Gettysburg. Wish I could give minus 5 stars!
