I recently had a heating problem at our home. I used the maintenance request on the web site and outlined the problem. I got a call back within the prescribed time frame from a very professional lady and she said she would have someone out to me that day. A Technician named Pat came and fixed the problem a short time later. Turned out to be a bad circulator and air in the system. Pat was very professional and skilled in his trade. The problem was fixed quickly and without breaking the bank. This veteran is very happy with Economy Heating and will continue to use their services.
I've used Economy a few times now for boiler service and oil delivery. They've always been professional and helpful on the phone and in-person. The technicians are very knowledgable and were great about answering my many questions about the heating system. You hear a lot of horror stories about local service companies screwing people over and even when given the opportunity they cut me a break, nice to know there are still good people out there. Overall I've been very happy and will continue to use them moving forward.
Very disappointed, I was happy to use economy as my supplier when I moved to my new house in January. I have family members that are employed by economy and use there services as well I thought they would be a good choice. Since I was changing the name on the account economy had to come and perform a leak test they did and filled the tank early January. now two and a half months later the tank is empty, called on a Saturday and expressed my concern that there may be a leak in the system. Basically was laughed at and told that it was normal usage. irritated with the poor service I had received on the phone I decided to find a new supplier. They came out promptly leak checked and installed a new tank. The tech informed me that the line coming through the basement wall supplying my hot water heater had a very large leak and looked like it had been that way for some time, told me I was lucky to have a house left and it could have been deadly. Called economy to inform them of the situation and expected to be partially refunded. Again I was told the usage amount was normal there was no leaks when we tested it and I owned the lines there is nothing we can do and acted like it was no big deal. Not impressed, will no longer be doing business here and would not recommend to anyone!
Very friendly and always great competitive pricing on fuel. Customer service goes out of their way to help with whatever needs we have. So glad we switched to them a few years ago! Highly recommended to anyone!
If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. Hands down the grimiest business I have ever dealt with. They will find whatever way they can to rake you over in fees. Telling me they only deliver on Monday in Owego, any other day is a $160 fee, which most fuel companies do charge. However, offering delivery one day a week is lame. My very first fuel delivery they filled my tanks and had to come back out the following day to connect it to my home. Why would you fill tanks not even connected to a home? Defeats the purpose of having a delivery. Just recently, I had a flood that disconnected the tanks from my home. They came out to set them back up and couldn't even drop fuel when their was a couple hundred dollars in credits on my account. Then proceeded to tell me I needed a leak check, so I paid the fee again for the 3rd time for them to not even perform the leak check. They did not tell me the leak check was not performed, only after reviewing my invoices I realized they charged me and didn't even do it. When I called to inquire they tried telling me they did the leak check. I was present with the tech so I know it wasn't performed. They then offered to credit my account, but only after I discovered it and argued with them. Now I will wait for them to refund the credit on my account back to my card. I am betting their is no rush on that. Even better, on the last tech visit - after paying for a leak check that wasn't even performed they told me they wouldn't light my furnace or my stove unless i made another service appointment. So, I lit them myself. When I told them to shuv it, they showed up just 24 hours later for the tanks. Amazing how quickly you show up to take tanks but then want to restrict your customers to a Monday delivery. This fuel company is completely disorganized, if you reach someone your doing great. Most times it is a busy signal. The staff treat the customers as a number or a fuel route rather than an actual human being and I can not get past the fees they try to slip in to your invoices. I just switched to Scott Smith & Son within minutes and unlike this place they welcomed my business and offer delivery a few days a week. Do us all a favor and keep your fuel right up in Port Crane and let Scott Smith & Son do the real jobs here in Owego. Hands down...the worst lying company ever. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Get yourself a real, well-known fuel company that will appreciate your business. This place does not
Switched companies due to forgetting my delivery tickets on there printer. Then it took the entire summer for them to pick up my tanks. The company I switched to unhooked them and moved them for me. They also verified there was still fuel in both tanks. When they finally picked them up they refused to refund the fuel in the tanks and sent me to collections. I will never pay them a rat penny and if you ever cancel service you better take pictures of your fuel level cause they will screw you over.
first let me say thankyou to brandon at economy had a friend a vet had no heat explained there was no other sorse of heat brandon dispached a tec fixed froblem no playing games his tone on phone i could tell hes concern job well done bare none best in area ty brandon and all at economy

Used Economy for two different homes now, and they have been nothing but excellent to deal with. I used a company in the past that was the complete opposite, so it's great dealing with Economy.
Very professional, honest and knowledgeable! I've only had great experiences with them over the years.
