Edge of the Woods is a family owned, offering flavorful, fresh fruit; red and black raspberries, blackberries, tart cherries and now blueberries. YUM!
Now CLOSED for the season. You can find us at the Indianola Farmer's Market and various local holiday shows. Or, we're happy to OPEN by APPOINTMENT. Please call ahead to confirm open times. We do close occasionally for private picnics at the farm.
In 2005, Rick and Beth McGeough had a personal reason for planting a crop of red raspeberries...they wanted flavorful and fresh berries and they wanted to know how and where they were being grown and harvested. It wasn't long and they realized that others wanted this too. So, Edge of the Woods was born.
What started with red raspberries has grown to black raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. In 2011, the addition of the berry building took place and they included other vendors to join them in their seasonal "market".
This year, 2014, outdoor country picnics have been added to the already fresh air friendly atmosphere. Bette Dryer, a well know caterer and cookbook author will prepare your picnic. Bring your friends family or group and enjoy the berry farm. You will choose your groups menu from a selection of delicious items.
"We appreciate your business and the shared desire to live and eat healthy. You have become our friends and we have enjoyed watching 2 and 3 henerations come together to the farm to spend time picking berries or shopping in our berry building."
