It was my first mammogram and I was intimidated by the whole thought of it….and I kept holding off to get it until my friend got breast cancer and I saw the torment she was going through. People will try to make it sound scary. Don’t listen. I had Sylvia as my tech at the Hinsdale location and I adore her. She is educated, empathetic, and kind. I appreciate you Sylvia. Thank you for doing what you do to help us ladies out there. I highly recommend Elmhurst.
If there were a lower rating than "one star," then I would have used it. My experience during the one visit I had to the Hinsdale Medical Center for nutrition therapy was a total waste of my time. Following the visit, I was billed for the service even though I had insurance to cover the service. I spent much time and effort in filing an appeal and talking on the telephone to their billing dept. The service was paid for in-full, however one year later I am receiving another "bill" for the services I received that have already been paid for. What a "headache!!" Very stressful AND I did not receive helpful nutritional therapy during my visit. The entire experience has left me with a very unsatisfactory impression!!
I live in Chicago but have kept my connection with EEH due to outstanding service and friendly staff. My last visit for a mammogram was somewhat disappointing as the appointment I had made in the Winter did not show up on the schedule. The registration woman apologized and offered A same day appointment at the Hinsdale location which was inconvenient but I accepted and did have good service.
These people are some of the most patient, caring and professional medical staff I have experienced. For some reason, my appointment did not get scheduled, but they fit me in as soon as they could. During treatment, I was treated with gentleness and respect.
My appointment was at 8:00 AM. I was seen right on the dot and treated with courtesy and care. I received the preliminary report on my mammogram within an hour. I was well pleased.
My wife and I were visiting our grandchildren in Hinsdale and she went to the Edward-Elmhurst Health Center for a sore throat. She provided all our insurance information. Three weeks later we received a bill for the full amount of the billing. When she called to see if the bill had been submitted to BC/BS she was told she would have to deal with our insurance company. She asked if they needed her policy numbers, etc and was told they had them but would not look up whether it had been submitted. BC/BS took our information, contacted EE Health Center and called us back. They said the Health Center had not submitted the bill and not to bother with payment because they were NOW submitting it. Still don't know the outcome but it was the worst customer service of our long lives. Do not go to this health clinic!!
This review is only for the billing. We took our son in because he had a fever and some respiratory symptoms. We were only in the clinic for 15 minutes or so for the appointment. The EOB from our insurance company showed that they billed the insurance over $700 for a pretty routine sick visit, and since we have a high deductible plan, we are on the hook for the adjusted amount of $500 or so. Turns out we were charged two "Medical Examination" fees -- one for the provider and one for the facilities. We have gone to the immediate care clinic at Dupage Medical Group in Hinsdale, and the billing is half as much for same/similar services. We definitely will NOT be going to this clinic ever again. It's rather unfortunate since their staff is nice and professional and the location is convenient, but it makes no sense to pay double for what DMG charges for the same/similar services.
This place had a long wait time. I went in and was diagnosed with strep. A month later I get the bills... not 1 but 2. I was charged $1081.00 of which insurance Aetna PPO covered most of it, but I was still on the hook for $242.50. The second bill was for pathology. They charged separately after there was already a $110 for Laboratory on the bill from the clinic. I would veer clear of this place that is gouging people who are sick. update 3/4/2020: I called the number provided by the owner and it is just a the scheduling number with touch tones options. I also have additional update--another person who went to the clinic didn't pay anything out of pocket because they are on medicare.
This is a very nice urgent care, the staff was friendly and efficient, and the medical care was quick and handled well. The problem is the billing. If you have a copay for urgent care, check with your insurance company. This facility bills for the medical care and separately as the hospital for facility use, solely for the purpose of joint commission accreditation. My $100 copay only applied to the medical care, and I had another $344 in coinsurance for the facilities charge. This was not revealed at the time of the appointment. If it was billed together, as it used to be, I would have only payed the $100 copay. According to their "pride line" the hospital stated they know patients have to pay twice, but there's nothing they can do about it. The insurance company says they know it's the same visit at the same facility, but there's nothing they can do about it. It's been escalated for further review, but no resolution so far. Buyer Beware.
This place is amazing and is saving my life. I didn’t realize how much I need to work on emotionally and mentally. I am also catholic and it’s nice that the program is inspired by a fellow catholic. For people who are scared reading that sentence they don’t force any sort of religion but do recommend meditation as a coping skill. I would recommend this place to anyone!
