Nice & clean park with a lot of fun equipment for kids. Pickleball courts are fabulous! Big pavillion with 2 grills in good condition and lots of trash cans & recycle containers. Nice walking trails, too.
Great place for family, friends and barbecue! Pickleball courts, Play area for kids.
This park has something for everyone and all ages of kiddos. Don't forget to hit the river view up at sunset. There is currently a sand bar down there to play around in due to the river being low. Pickleball courts are a plus. Zipline was a hit with the kids. I gave it a go and enjoyed the ride! Playground: Awesome variety of updated playgrounds for all ages.
The park is nice. However if you want to rent or reserve one of the picnic buildings the city staff are not helpful. They told me both structures were reserved, and I could rent the small one across the street from police station. We had our event in EH Young Park anyway. From 2pm to 6pm we practiced knots, safety harness, emergency rescues, Throw rope bags, and more, not one person at either of the places the told me were reserved.
My family loves this park, each time we come near the airport we make a point to stop by. Great park for kids and adults.
Nice big playground for all ages. 8 pickle ball courts, which gets filled pretty quickly. I saw a couple big shelters with grills and outlets. And the Missouri River is next to it so you can walk next to it along the pavement.
Beautiful fun clean lots to play and do for all members of the family
It is very spacious and lots of walking trails! Love the many benches and filter water fountains, a great place to explore and enjoy nature!
You have to know where this spot is to find it as it’s tucked away on the backside of a levee by the riverfront inside the Argosy casino complex, but is also very near a Children’s Mercy Riverside location which seems logical. The facility is fantastic, an awesome playground structure with premium equipment and spotless upkeep, IMO the best playground facility in the north metro by far. Highly recommend.
I go here almost all the time, Sun Shine, Rain, or even snow. I mostly spend my 2 hours there lapping around the whole park on my bike. When I am there through, there's lots of kids and lots of people around. One of the popular activities I see there, is Pickleball. There's about 6 stations in the area. Usually only 4 are being used. There is also a new working water fountain right near the courts. So if your into the Sport, I suggest giving it a try! Also there is a beach ball net, with sand nearby, but basically nobody uses it. If you have a dog, there's a big fenced of dog park to the left right as you enter. There's usually not had much people at the dog park, and parking will almost never be an issue. Occasionally though, there is a train that passes by, but it's a "No Horn Zone" so it won't spook your doggos. By the way, if you have an electric car, there is a charging station right across from the Pickleball Courts. Last Image How could 8 write a review with mentioning the Missouri River. Also while I'm there, I see a few people every once in a while coming fishing by the shore at the end of the parking lot, passed the fence, and down the hill. One thing that really stands out is a stage. A very desolate stage. I don't think it's ever been used in over a decade. Besides that, it's really nice shade! 2nd Image As a park should, there is restrooms. But the water fountains currently do not work. You'd have to walk/bike all the way down to the end, where there us a singular fountain, that constantly runs water. TIP: it's like a game, you have to hit the button just hard enough to get the maximum height of the water, if you were to fill water bottle. There's lots of trees for at the kids park, so shade is no problem and sunburns are low risk. This park is fairly new, after the old one being flooded a few times in the past, I'd say, they did a nice job on it! So at the chance you do go, there could be a 50/50 chance you do see me riding my bike around the park. 3rd Image 6-18-22
