The South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA) is one of the oldest Islamic Organizations in The Bay Area founded in 1977. Its headquarters are located in downtown San Jose.
The Evergreen Masjid is the second location of SBIA and is located at 2486 Ruby Avenue, San Jose, California. It is situated on a 2.2 acre land that was acquired in 1989 and currently has a 1500 sq. ft. building that serves the local community by providing various services including five daily prayers and Dars on Sunday mornings.
The City of San Jose has approved SBIA to build up to 31,000 sq. feet structure comprising of a masjid and a community center. SBIA launched the construction project at its Evergreen site on April 10, 2010. The project aims to build a 11,000 sq feet masjid as Phase 1 of the project.

* To establish EIC as a local Islamic community based on the principles of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
* To strive towards establishing a world wide Ummah, that abides by the principles of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
* To provide Islamic education and religious instructions to the Muslim members of the community.
* To provide Islamic religious services and facilities for prayers for local Muslims.
* To provide Islamic counseling to the Muslim community, including families, Youth and Seniors.
* To promote and provide resources for Da’wah.
* To develop a harmonious relationship with neighbors and community at large within the framework of Islam.
* To cooperate with State, National, and International Muslim organizations and Islamic communities.
* To participate and support humanitarian causes, that do not conflict with Islamic teachings.
