Eidem Homestead

About

Eidem Homestead is a 15-acre living history farm that was restored to the period 1890 – 1910.

Description

Homesteaded over a century ago, the Eidem family owned the farm for 82 years.

Today, the farm is like a time machine, transporting you back to the turn of the 20th Century when Brooklyn Park was one of the nation’s top potato growing areas.

We invite you to tour our beautifully restored Victorian house, visit the barn, outbuildings and farm animals.

Eidem Homestead is such a wonderful place for Littles. They've got animals goats and hens, barns, vegetable/garden patches, and wonderful play areas! Over the summer, they have open visit hours, classes, and story times. We visited during multiple story time sessions; everyone was amazing, they had activities, and the kids always had a blast! They even churned fresh ice cream and served it to us once - it was awesome. This is a historical farm, so it's set up to showcase life in the 1900s. From what I hear, it used to be an interactive experience where volunteers would wear costumes and act out farm tasks. I really wish they still did that, but this is a wonderful outing regardless.
Great place to visit with children. Animals, plants and farming, it’s a good opportunity to explore and learn something new.
Great place to visit! We continue to go yearly and always learn something new.
Wide variety of people grow organic food here. Please don't move our plots!!
We really enjoy visiting the farm! We've been with my son's school and we've been for story times and outdoor concerts. It's so fun to go back in time a little bit and learn about what life was like in the early 1900's right in our own neighborhood. My son enjoys pumping water and seeing the animals. Definitely recommend a visit!
Small but fun little place. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The kid had a great time visiting with the people and animals.
Fun place! We had a family event there and the people were very nice and willing to please. Hayrides, animals, and bonfires were great!
good place for little kids
My kids have visited this farm many times because it offers a number of great opportunities to learn about life on the farm and in a bygone era.
