Outstanding Mexican food in a friendly neighborhood environment. The smoked marlin taco is delicious with flavorful marlin and pan roasted red peppers on a rustic corn tortilla. The red salsa is rich and garlicky and the green salsa is earthy and spicy. The beans are creamy with an amazing depth of flavor that reminds me of homemade chicken stock that simmers all day. The rice is fluffy and accentuated with corn, carrots and green beans. The house margarita is sweet and refreshing. They also serve an all lime margarita. Indoor and outdoor seating is available as well as a small bar area. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is outstanding. Vegetarian options: Menu offers several vegetarian dishes as well as soyrizo. Parking: Can be challenging but there is a small pay lot behind the restaurant.
This place is an absolute Hidden Gem! The food is as authentic as if you were eating on a Mexican beach. It’s not just authentic it’s creative and blends flavors in a unique way. I can’t say enough about the flavor, presentation and delivery. Logistics: parking can be tough but there is paid parking behind the eatery. The name means pan. but not just any pan it’s the pan of the house. They could use some help on their menus design and food descriptions and the facility can use some remodeling but that’s not why we come here! The coffee is authentic Mexican coffee! It’s spicy and super yummy.
Delicioso! Authentic Mexican food. Pozole Verde was so flavorful. Fast service and pleasant waiters. Platano Macho and flan desserts were perfect!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
This local spot is a favorite of ours. The fresh, house made corn tortillas never disappoint and the vegetarian section of the menu makes it easy for everyone to eat. Highly recommend the soy chorizo plate and sopa de albóndigas. Cute patio for outdoor dining, and is heated at nightDine in: YesOutdoor seating: Yes
We visit this place everytime we are in San diego. The food is great and service is great too. Definately try the smoked Marlin taco It's the best. They also have a cactus and carne asada taco which is pretty good too. And do try the Jamaicadrink. It tastes like kokumGarcenia IndicaDine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
Went here for the 1st time and I have to say I was very happy with the service and the food - the place actually makes u feel like your South of the border - I has the albóndiga soup which is Meatball soup liked it so much I had to order another to go for my parents- definitely plan on going back -
One of my favorite restaurants in North Park! The cuisine here isn't your standard Mexican. I believe it's from a different region of Mexico. Consistently great food. The tamales and gorditas are my go to! The tamales are truely exceptional, as they're wrapped in a banana leaf and are more moist and flavorful than tamales wrapped in corn husk. Service and atmosphere is great! This is a sit down, full service restaurant with a bar. It's worth coming here and enjoying your time with a drink or two!
First time here and will be going back soon! I ordered queso con rajas tamale, flautas, and fish taco. Everything was fresh! Flavorful! and hot! Really love their salsa verde! spicy! If you wanna try a new spot that won't disappoint then this is it!
Loved it! The people in there were soooo nice. It felt like we went to their family dinner. Smoked marlin taco... yes! And the whole pan fried fish... yes! And the cucumber margarita too The tortillas were obviously hand made and perfect, not to mention the refried beans. We were searching for a perfect taco shop and found much more here... we can’t wait to go back!
My partner and I came for dinner here for the first time. We came on a Friday night, it wasn't super busy and got sat quickly. We sat at at table one the patio, it was quiet, cute, goof vibe and feeling being there. We tried several dishes, we like to share. Everything we had was delicious, I have a cocktail their version of an old fashioned and it was just okay. I'd say stick to tequal or beer, but the food was great. Service was quick, kind, helpful and very friendly. My partner is Hispanic so they hooked him up with some chiles toreados.. They have a good selection of items suck as pozole and menudo if that floats your boat. It did cost a little more then expected, how ever we did have 3 drinks, appetizer, and a few steak entrees around $100. We will go back some time for sure.
