El Jalisco Mexican Restaurant

Owners: Please take this feedback sincerely. I don't want to criticize, but you have so much potential being the only "real" Mexican place in five forks. Great bar area and cool looking place inside. Not sure what the problem is, but the food and service have so much room for improvement! Please taste some of the food that goes out to your customer's tables. I live in the five forks area and, unfortunately, I've only eaten here maybe four times in the last five years because the food is just mediocre. Because of this the wife and I will drive a little further to go somewhere else. It's like the cooks and staff have just given up. No real passion for cooking good, fresh Mexican food. Please go and eat at one of your competition's places and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. You guys could really pack this place every night with some serious changes. Please stop being just mediocre when you have one of the best areas and so much potential for a really great Mexican restaurant! Put out great, fresh Mexican food and great customer service and you'll pack the place!

I've been coming to this Mexican restaurant since it opened. The food is always good.

So I love leaving great reviews and I think I’ve only ever left one bad review many years ago. But I’m sad that this place hasn’t gotten better over the years. They were mediocre 10 years ago, and now they’re just terrible. I sincerely believe nobody that works there cares about what they’re doing. Service is terrible, like the worst…wait times are astronomical, and the food is mediocre at BEST…and saltier than a petty ex girlfriend. Bathroom was horrid. Today was the last time I’ll ever go back.

Server was kind, attentive, and respectful the only reason this review is getting 2 stars and not 1, but the food quality was beyond disappointing aside from the salsa. I’ve unfortunately been sick in the bathroom since I ate the meal. The ground beef tasted like canned dog food lathered with table salt, the ingredients for both my wife’s meal and my meal tasted like it was prepped days ago, and my wife gagged on the margarita because it had so much sugar in it - needless to say it definitely wasn’t fresh. I always believe that eating someone’s food is a glimpse into their culture, their background, and their values. Unfortunately I don’t think whoever cooked our meals has any culture, nor do they have values - nor do they take any pride in their craft. If I was a server at this restaurant, I’d be having a few words with the cooks because knowing how most people are there’s a good chance the cooks are robbing the servers of their tips because of their atrocious cooking skills. There are just too many restaurants out there - Taco Bell included - that make much better food.

Prices have gone up significantly, yet they are not updated on menu or online. Lady working the front was preoccupied taking her child back and forth to their car to get things - left customers waiting to pay and phone ringing off the hook. Couple came in and ordered a lunch special advertised on FB and were charged full price. Lady told him too bad. Not a good look for a business.

My food, I had the enchiladas, was alright. My son had the shrimp fajita,it was too salty for him to finish . My granddaughter got the cheese sticks and fries, some of her fries were not done.

Ordered two ACPs. Was suppose to be chicken, rice, and queso….. no queso also kind of pricey

Typical pre-made Mexican food. Not bad but service is not good. Very slow. Definitely much better Mexican food in the areaFood: 3/5

WORSE RESTAURANT I EVER ATE AT. had roaches crawling on the wall and on the floor. the food was awful and price was terrible. I will be contacting SCDHEC. no wonder why the restaurant was empty. what makes things even worse the lady comes up to the table throwing bowls and chips on the table while on the phone. UNPROFESSIONAL. the 1 star is only for the kindness.

Favorite Mexican in greenville. We eat here at least once per week. Cheese enchiladas and bean burrito are delicious. I do not like their ground beef so I don’t order it.
