On a Sunday morning you better come having already drinking your coffee because the services pretty slow since they're so busy on a Sunday. The arm security guard will probably ask you to wait outside if there's a lot of people waiting, so don't take offense to that and be sure to sign in your name when you first get here so you don't get Skipped. The chips and salsa are complimentary and they're super delicious. You're going to see a lot of people coming in and out with their pots for the menudo, which apparently is really good cuz this is non-stop. We've been waiting about 30 minutes or so for food after placing the order and hopefully it's good. So let's find out., AC works, its not hot in here. The Horchata here is really good so don't skip that.
This Mexican restaurant is one of the favorite spots in downtown Pomona .It’s been around for a long time. The prices are reasonable the food is really good. We ordered a # 42 Chile rellenó enchilada plate with rice and beans and a Chili Verde burrito oven style with french fries. I ordered a bottle Coke, a lot of places don’t have bottle coke from Mexico,my opinion, they taste better from the ones in the USA. The service is great. The structure is roomy and nicely decorated. We come here a lot.I recommend this establishment to those who love, Mexican food. Just like homemade. There’s plenty of parking in the lot next to the establishment Lastly I met an old friend I had not seen in 40 years. It was a good day.
Friend and I went for Breakfast. They serve lunch and dinner as well. Additionally they have a bakery attached so you can even get some sweet breads and other types of baked goods. The restaurant is tucked away and you will have park in one of the parking areas, and the spaces fill up during busy times. So probably gonna have to walk a bit. Overall the breakfast was pretty solid. You can get very basic breakfast bacon, eggs and toast or a nice Mexican style breakfast chilequles, mechaca, rice, beans and tortillas. You will be served chips and salsa as part of your meal. They have a full menu too and the items looked really good. I will have to stop by again for lunch or dinner. It looked like they serve their whole menu all day, so time doesn't look to matter. Drinks; soda, tea, coffee and beer. You can get wine and some margaritas, but you will not get a mixed drink here. Service: it's seat yourself at an open space. Also the servers are going to be busy and you may just need to flag them down as they may not have seen you sit down or If you have been helped yet. So just raise a hand or wave them down. Same thing when it's time to pay, just wave them down.
My wife and I have never been here and wanted somewhere near our tax guy. I chose this place and was pleasantly surprised. Parking was somewhat hard to find but 2 hours are free! Outside looks kind of rough but inside looks cozy and like a busy cafeteria. Once seated the service is excellent. I had pancakes and eggs, my lady had Menudo which was so tasty. Pancakes were so good and so were the potatoes. So much flavor. We highly recommend and there is a bakery right next door. They also serve beer! Parking: Location is off the street but there is free 2 hour parking around the next corner.
The menudo here is what I think people come back for because the other plates have not been great I just had to post this specific plate I bought because it was overpriced for the very low quality food they gave. The CHILAQUILLES ARE NOT WORTH IT the salsa tastes from a can the chips still hard just lathered with salsa from a can, shredded chicken like waht you use for taquitos and they charge you for eggs pm the chilaquilles, the beans are very liquidy the rice was the only thing good . It was 20$ for this plate not worth it at all don't order it.
The busiest place you’ll find in Pomona. Seriously. This is an establishment really. The food is good too because people flock here and it’s busier than downtown. Pomona will be dead and this place will have more customers than the entire downtown Pomona. There is even a Mexican bakery panaderia connected to the other side of the restaurant. It’s a pleasant surprise to have the two businesses connected. I went for the bakery and then I saw the restaurant. Considering Pomona is not very interesting, this restaurant and bakery are busy and feel they belong here.
Food was great and service was pretty good. Nice place to go visit with your family. The food has an authentic taste and doesn't taste like it's coming out of a can. They are reasonably priced and they have good portions of food. Very chill atmosphere. I'd go there again. Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
The food is prepared differently, when I started going there back in 1987 the cook had a special way of preparing the food. The green chills enchilada style burrito had chucks of green tomatoes, tasted bitter, home style potatoes were like mashed potatoes. Not my favorite place anymore.Food: 2/5
Pasole and menudo is awesome Chilliquilas are great and the staff is amazingFood: 5/5
The albondiga soup was delicious. After the food was brought to me I wasn’t approached again and when I was done eating I pushed away my plate. It was another 20 minutes before I can get the attention the server to ask bring me the bill. I think the waitress was on her lunch and I don’t take too long to eat.
