Our mission is to provide comprehensive primary, disease prevention and behavioral health care services to McAllen and Rio Grande Valley residents who are medically indigent. The medically indigent person is one who, after securing the basic necessities of life, is unable to afford necessary health care. It is not only the poorest of the poor who are medically indigent but those with limited financial resources, who are uninsured or underinsured. Health services are provided to the working poor who earn too much to qualify for public assistance but not enough to pay for health care in the private sector.
