I visited this restaurant 16 years ago and hated it and never set foot in it again until today. I was craving tacos, and my hubby joking said, "There's always El Rain-cone!" Because he knows how much I bad talked it over the years. Well, to call his bluff, I agreed to give it another try for dinner tonight and. . . Y'all!?! Not only was the service good, the food was GREAT! The beef fajitas were tender and well seasoned, the flour tortillas were homemade and hot/fresh, the iced tea was just the right amount of sweet and the puffy tacos were delicious although the shell was more of a gordita texture than a traditional puffy taco, in my opinion but still good!! The salsas rojo y verde were so good and service was fast. El Rincon, you've redeemed yourselves! I'm glad I came back for a second try.
Had not been to El Rincon in a while prob since pre COVID and when another local place did not wait on us we decided to come back here and we loved it! Forgot this was such a great place in our area for Texmex. Had beers and beef fajita nachos and puffy taco plate and it was fresh and delicious and came out really quick! Friendly service and they had a DJ Friday dinner time. Can’t wait to come back and try more things, great prices as well.
Best huevos con machacado eggs with beef jerky Monterrey style in the area, at a reasonable price. If you go on a weekend, expect to wait for a table because this place is popular, and has been serving good dishes since ancient times 1990s for most restaurants in the Austin area. Service is prompt and the same meseras seem to cover the same areas, so they will recognize you if you go often enough.
Beef fajita was delicious! Chips and salsa were delicious! The tres leche cake is a must try! Only thing the rice was crunchy and flavorless.Recommended dishes
Stopped by here for a quick breakfast, highly recommend this place. Service was quick and the food was great. We will definitely be back to try more food.
I asked the waitress about the cheese they use and she said they use cheddar so I ordered enchiladas. However, I was very disappointed because they did not use cheddar, they use American. Then our waitress was not very attentive. In fact we had to get up and ask for napkins and had to keep asking for refills on our drinks from other waitresses. The atmosphere was comfortable. But the winners were the puffy tacos. The taco meat was delicious and the toppings were fresh.
Barbacoa was overly fatty & served cold. Flour tortillas were really good. Chips & salsa red & green we’re both good. No coke products, only Pepsi.
Tried this place for the first time, and will be my last time. I'm not sure if the food is made different when you dine in vs take out? My wife ordered the Cheese enchiladas, and they were super thin, the cheese in the center tasted like melted craft singles. Red sauce had very little flavor. I ordered the fajitas with chicken. Some chicken was burnt, along with the grilled onions. The tortillas were chewy at parts. Not the best experience food wise
A Pflugerville favorite with the locals, this tex mex restaurant offers good food at good prices. Stopped in for lunch and was seated promptly, there's plenty of parking out front. Got our complimentary warm chips and mildly spicy salsa, which I really liked! Had a bit of a wait for our entrees, but they were worth waiting for, and service was friendly. I had the Plato Todos plate, which had a cheese enchilada, tamale, beef taco, and chalupa with a dollop of guacamole. My wife enjoyed two cheese enchiladas, taco, and refried beans, no rice by request. A side of corn tortillas came out hot and are complimentary, too.We devoured every bite, and the prices are quite reasonable. Our total bill before tip was about $27..... each entree was $9.99 and soft drinks are $2.50. Parking: Watch out for serious potholes!!
Took forever for a server to help us, 10 min plus. When they finally realized no one had helped me, a young lady took our order. They tried, but in my opinion, they failed. The food was ok, the drink was fantastic, and I would recommend drinks only or if you don't mind waiting for food. Ladies were very pleasant. Seems like a Manager issue.
