Ordered Take out . The food is good but kinda Pricey . I just liked the Chorizo and the refried beans . The rest of the platter is really just regular grilled chicken , pork and beef .
The fact they have Guatemala food is a plus because there are a handful Guatemalan restaurant in the area. The downside is that the ambiance is not great. I've been there on the weekend twice before when there were other families eating there and it was okay. Hiwever, today, Wednesday at about 11am, a drunk guy entered and stayed there the whole time my family and I were there. He was served abd he tried to engage with us a few times - not pleasant. I think it is best to order ahead and do carryout. Right next door, adjacent to this restaurant there seems to be a bar not recommended at all.
Normally when you order coffee at a restaurant the give you refills at no charge. Not this place they charge you $4 a coffee and on top of that it's a very bad cheap coffee. I know that because I'm from the land of the coffee. Never order from here again. I recommend Mi Tierra which is 5 minutes away.
This is a 1 time visit kinda place. Stopped by on a whim for a very late lunch and lite dinner. The food was hit or miss. I bought a miloja sweets while waiting for my order it tasted fine. My boyfriend and I showed up around 5 p.m. on a Wednesday. The place was empty on both the bar and restaurant side. Scantily clad female servers some of them anyway, more tips if you were short shorts? Most importantly look at the receipt !!! Come to find out there are no free refills on coffee. Also, asked for sour ceam our waitress said they dont offer it. It was replaced with a tiny container of crema for $2.00. Tostada is salty and sopa de res my boyfriend said was watered down. I understand times are tough but if you upcharge a 1st time customer don't expect them to return Sneaky/shady serving practices never mentioned pay for every litlte item. Total for "lite" dinner $46.00 including tip, felt a little scammed but tipped 20 % anyway.
The food from this place it’s good I fully recommend it
Server have a bad attitude. never come back, food not even hot.
The Guatemalan bread is good, the selection is OK. I wish the waiters knew or were trained better concerning the Guatemalan products because when you ask them about certain products they don't have a clue of what you're asking them. The service is OK, but as a Guatemalan bakery and restaurant at least there's one for when you crave a little piece of Guatemala in the USA.
I am doordash driver this is my third time i went there and had same problem. Customer already placed the order but they don’t have it and they asked the order with us and make us wait 20 to 30 minutes and today i am writing this review because i told them I can’t wait 20 to 30 minutes and the lady who was sitting on the counter she told me bye . They really don’t have manners. I don’t know how’s the food here but discipline is the first thing.
I ordered some chicken from there. And the chicken was not done. There was so much blood in the chicken. I just threw it away. I was so mad I just didn’t want to go back . So I threw it away. And I know for sure me and mine will never go there AGAIN! Period
Probably some of the most authentic Guatemalan food I've had outside of Guatemala. The restaurant itself is kind of tucked away inside an unassuming shopping center and with a name like Tikal Bakery, you wouldn't really expect this place to offer anything but bread. While they do have a running bakery, they also offer a wide selection of hispanic food options. I ended up ordering steak fajitas which came out hot and sizzling with 3 tortillas, guacamole, mashed beans, lettuce, sour cream and sautéed peppers and onions. The meat was seasoned deliciously and cooked very well, making it very flavorful. Overall, the meal itself was absolutely delicious and pretty affordable. I believe I paid about $10-12 for mine which, in comparison with some of the other restaurants in the area, is pretty reasonable. I will say, the restaurant feels a little sketchy. Not that there's anything wrong happening inside it, but it's a little dirty, dimly lit and just feels kind of run down. If you've ever been to an authentic restaurant in a hispanic country like Guatemala or Cuba, it feels very similar to that. Our service was pretty good, though we were one of only three parties in the restaurant, so they weren't particularly busy. I'll also mention that our waiter didn't speak great English. This wasn't a problem and we were able to communicate everything we wanted without a problem, but things could get difficult if you needed to make more complicated edits to your order. Other than that, I really enjoyed my experience here. I have some friends from Guatemala and they say this is, without a doubt, the most authentic Guatemalan restaurant in the area and it's definitely worth checking out.
