An Artist Co-Op Gallery in Sumter of over 30 resident designers and artists.
The Elephant Ear Gallery was organized in 2010, offering art and fine craft space to artists
in Sumter and the surrounding community. It has been a bonus to the community and to
each artist. The community gets the benefit of local art while the artists are housed in a
safe, clean and environmentally protected area at an affordable price. Each artist works
one day per month for each space his art is displayed, and gives the public a chance
to see "artists at work" nearly every day.
The Elephant Ear has nearly 20 artists (acrylic, oil, watercolor, collage, fiber), a complete frame shop, monogramming capabilities on fabric, lucite and pewter, photography. Professional artists accept commissions and special order challenges.
Jewelry artists and fiber artists produce one of a kind items. Yard, garden art, primitive art,
pottery, accessories, stationery ( original ) and more compliment the entire Gallery.
The Elephant Ear is very proud to have opened in such a challenging economic time and
remain open for artists to share their products. The Elephant Ear accepts new artists
by the jurying process and you can pick up an application from the desk.
