I have been using Elf for decades to keep my Stihl 011 running great . I recently had some issues with it stalling on me and not keeping an idle . I took it in to have them look at it and left a $20 deposit to look at it . The tech called me a couple days later and said all it needed was a carb adjustment and it’s running fine . They easily could have charged more and I would never know the difference. Integrity, honesty and technical expertise all wrapped into one nice package! This is rare these days and as always I appreciate the way they run their business! The chainsaw is over 30 years old … one pull start and purrs like a kitten! Thank you Elf Industries !!

From when I walked inside their front door...super kind and welcoming. Being newer to the area..and driving a sports car in a world of trucks..they made me feel right at home and communicated with smiles and helpful knowledge. 10 star crew and experience.

I've been coming here for years & bought multiple pieces of Stihl equipment here. I also take my chains & blades here for sharpening. These guys are great! Everyone is friendly & the store still has a small-town feel. The prices are good as well. Bonus: while you're there check out Helotes Tactical Firearms in the back.

I went in to get some information on chainsaws. The young man that helped me couldn't have been better. He was very knowledgeable. He showed me several models and the difference between them, without being condescending. When I'm ready to make my purchase, I'm definitely giving them my business.

Remember when your grandfather told about the good old days of family owned hardware stores? Yep! This is one you'll be bragging about to your kids someday. While they aren't loaded with stuff like the big box stores, they have all the really neat stuff you'll need to keep your chainsaw and other powered yard care machines. If you're not a do it your self kind of person, they'll work on your powered machines too. Been shopping there for years. Love the service and parts for my Stihl powered tools.

I always like to support small businesses being a small business owner . . but that does not mean a “free ride”. I have worked with Brian a few times and a couple of other guys. I am new to the Helotes area- we sit on just a hair under 9 acres with nearly 400 trees. I went to these guys to help set me up to properly care for the trees. I purchased 3 different size Stihl chain saws got rid of my old Echo saws. I also purchased a couple of weed eaters. One of them is fitted with a “chainsaw” blade. Brian had the answers I needed for just about every project. I even purchased the biggest baddest leaf blower. At first I was thinking they are trying to oversell me . . but Brian was right, what used to take me 1.5 hours of leaf blowing time is now less than 30 minutes. The right tool for the job makes ALL the difference. They are small mom and pop shop – the only downside is they close early. But I will usually wait to be able to purchase the right tool the first time with their suggestions. If you need help getting “outfitted” for your land in Helotes area, these are “the guys”.

Came in about a year to 8 months ago Dissatisfied with them wanting me to leave a deposit, I was going to drop off my chainsaw but decided not to! Having to leave a deposit is ridiculous! Just means more money you don't want to pay. & that's theft to me! There is only one thing I like about the store, One thing only. I'm alright with buying Bar & chain oil or other small stuff. There is a lot to choose from.
