Elgin Mills Cemetery assisted with the funeral of my father. They were very professional and all our needs were met. We had a very large funeral 300-400 visitors and they were able to manage such a large procession. We had the main room ~200 seats, with 2x overflow rooms ~120 seats combined, with additional staff guiding the parking, and a hired officer to help everyone exit in a timely manner. We hired a streaming service as well for high quality resolution. The funeral home does have the capability for streaming but the video quality would not be sharp. We had a picture slide show playing throughout the visitation. Viola was our funeral director. Respectful and professional, she was instrumental in organizing this event, as well as keeping the large crowd moving + redirecting people when one room became too full. We were told by many that it was a beautiful service, and our family thanks Elgin Mills Funeral Home for making it possible.
We appreciate all the support from the entire staff, especially Kim, our funeral director who was knowledgeable, efficient and thorough. Additionally, Emily was a great support to our family during the funeral. She was extremely helpful, responsible and meticulous, who showed great initiative. All their efforts won't go unnoticed. Thank you once again.
We had a funeral recently at Elgin Mills Cemetery and from beginning to end, our funeral director, Mr. Kim Tung was professional and knowledgeable. He was patient in explaining everything and answered any questions we had. He recommended the services we needed based on our requirements and was personable throughout the whole process. Due to his attention to detail and guidance, the funeral ceremony went extremely well. We thank you, Mr. Kim Tung and your team for arranging and preparing this important day for our family.
Repeat disappointment from Mount Pleasant Group, Elgin Mills Funeral Centre Our family entrusted Elgin Mills Funeral Centre with the burial of our beloved late mother in 2021 and the production of a tombstone for the grave. On one of our visits to the grave, we discovered that the paint job on the tombstone was blotchy and horrible. The manager cited this to be the responsibility of the subcontractor they use, and agreed to have the tombstone repaired. We made it VERY CLEAR that the repairs need to be on-site and that the tombstone CANNOT be removed from the grave as this is disrespectful to our ancestor. On a subsequent visit, we discovered that despite our EXPLICIT request that the manager agreed to, the TOMBSTONE WAS REMOVED! This is was a huge shock and very upsetting to our family. The manager once again cited this to be the responsibility of the subcontractor. We compromised and decided to consider an upgrade to the size of the tombstone – since this would take close to a year to complete, the cemetery would reinstall the original tombstone and we requested that this take place AFTER “Ghost Month” on the lunar calendar roughly August. On today’s visit, once again we were disappointed and upset to discover that the tombstone was installed during the period that we specifically requested – and was agreed by the manager – to avoid. This is extremely upsetting and hugely disrespectful to our mother. As such a largest cemetery group with so many locations across Ontario, I trusted them and did not expect that time after time, they would fail to honour their promise to mourning clients. The Elgin Mills location has many Chinese clients, and the requests we had are common amongst our cultural beliefs. Any families who wish to consider the Mount Pleasant Group or Elgin Mills Funeral Centre should be prepared to have their wishes not followed.
We recently had a funeral service for my mom at Elgin Mills Cemetery, the funeral director that we had was not very helpful, she never replied to my emails, she claimed that she didn’t receive my email. She only replied to my email after our first meeting for a couple days and that’s it. I made appointment to drop off clothing for my mom and she told me to drop off to her coworker, the second time I went in to drop off additional items she wouldn’t even come out to meet me even she’s in her office. Just asked me to give the item to the receptionist. Customer service was terrible. I sent another email asking her to call me so that I can provide credit card information to settle my account, again no call nor reply.On the other hand the funeral director who attended the funeral was very helpful.
Our family recently had our funeral services with Elgin Mills Cemetery. We found that our funeral Director Kim Tong was very professional, knowledgeable and went above and beyond. We appreicated his professionalism during this difficult time. On behalf of Nancy Ma and family.
Please fire the receptionist. I did not have an appointment, so I understand that was frowned upon, many of the other places I've visited have been very accommodating and helpful in giving quotes, but NOT HERE. I was asked when my mother passed, which was less than a week ago. The receptionist did not give condolences, which is odd they would ask for date if not to even offer the smallest of gestures to a griefing son and family. The receptionist gave us a price list and business card and then rudely told us to leave. I inquired about cremation products for the cemetery there, but the receptionist did not understand a single product. If the receptionist is the front face of administration and this unempathetic and unknowledgable, I shudder to know how representatives behave and whether the deceased's best interests are in mind.
It is very difficult when a loved one pass away and we still have to go through all the arrangements and decision making, being pulled in multiple direction. Words are not enough to express how grateful we are for having our funeral director Viola Zhai and her team along side each step of the way. Her caring, compassion and professionalism helped us through this difficult time of life. We truly appreciated to have Viola there with us.
When we were going through the difficult time of losing our beloved mother, it was not easy to arrange the funeral service in a short time. Thankfully, we had Kim Tung as our funeral director. He is very professional and knowledgeable. In our first meeting, he helped us understand the whole process and we were able to lay down the whole plan. With his guidance and advice, the whole funeral service was pretty smooth. Kim, please have our sincere thanks to you and your team.
Lovely place to hold your funeral services. The funeral director named Kim is such a fantastic and informative person and he will make your life so much easier in times of grief and sorrow. He gave me all the information I needed and helped organize my fathers funeral in the best possible way. If you have a chance to have Kim as your funeral director, do not hesitate.
