I had a great time at Prickly Pines Disc Golf Course. The holes are somewhat challenging, with many trees on some holes and tall grass covering large parts of the course. This makes it a very strategic course, where you need to think about your shot selection carefully. The people there are very friendly. I even lost a disc and somebody was kind enough to return it. The views are great, with rolling hills and mature trees. There is even a water hole on one of the holes, which is cool to have on a disc golf course. Everything is well-maintained and serene. I would definitely recommend Prickly Pines Disc Golf Course to anyone looking for a challenging and enjoyable round of disc golf.
Prickly Pines disc golf was awesome - great pine tree forest course where the trees aren't too dense. Lot of variety and creative technical shots. One of my favorite courses around. Reminds of Flagstaff, AZ.
Wish the pond had more fish for the kids to catch and release and less algae. Looks like there is a good disc golf course. Everything was clean and well kept.
Costs $5 when you pull up, it’s the dirt lot passed the skatepark. Great layout with felt tee pads and easy to follow signage. Nothing too tricky or menacing but still challenging. Also very clean.
The Prickly Pines disc golf course is open again. Yeah! They added some sticks on the hitting side to mitigate tree damage, smart! That it is open again is attracting lots of disc golfers. The course is quite lush right now, so disc loss is a real risk, especially on #8, 16, and 17. Fore caddies are really useful. You can walk within 5' of your disc and not see it. Still this is a great course.
The park has a lot of things to go and is very well cared for. The staff is great.
I have driven by Open Mesa many times but never stopped. It has something for everyone!
The new Splash Pad is excellent. They put a fair bit of work into the playground. The soccer field is super fun and a great sledding hill in the winter. Is an Ice Pavilion and a great place for skateboards and longboards. Also it has one of the most popular disc golf courses in the entire metro area.
Disc golf course has great signs for each hole, problem is course Is over grown. Some holes not even worth playing. Saw three people "working" mowing lawn area but they wont trim or keep up with the disc golf course. Trash. Seems really lazy, and those people just mowing the baseball field area... I get it.. but who ever is in charge of the community park, keep these people working instead of the slow mow bs they got going on. Easy money. Wont be back... wont spend money in that town. Sucks this is they way it is in Elizabeth Colorado.
The Prickly Pines Disc Golf Course is great. A challenging course especially if you play the OB and mandatory signs strictly, running half through the trees, and half outside. Favors my forehand a lot. Good signage but very short astroturf tee pads lacking. I'd still give it a 5 star review if they would find a way to separate it from the "Elizabeth Park & Recreation District" which appears to be tied to the building in the middle of the park, which may be closed even when the disc golf course is still open, and is accessible via a different entrance. It's confusing to try to navigate to Prickly Pines Disc Golf course and have it tell me it's closed on Sunday which I ignored, and then dump me into a big parking lot 300 yards away from the small one used for disc golfers. And then after the visit, Google Maps asks me if I know how to get into the building.. I do, but that's not where I was going. On the bright side, maybe it keeps the traffic to this course down a bit.
