Today my wife Amanda and three other older women got a flat tire on the highway coming from the garden state mall. She called AAA and was waiting for them. However they became frightened when they left the car by the intense traffic so they called Elizabeth PD thru 911. Within two minutes an officer responded!!! Calmed the girls down and then actually changed the tire for them!!!. We can't thank Officer Andres Sosa enough along with the Elizabeth PD. Thank you for protecting us and the public. Bless you all.
These officers work hard under tough circumstances. They respond to late-night noise complaints and they truly provide great service. I am happy to have these officers protecting and serving our community.
This is the worst police department that I have ever came across. The majority of the officers employed by this department are thugs with police uniforms. They have the absolute worst response time of any police department that I have ever seen. Unless you are shot or stabbed and bleeding to death, don't expect to see a patrol car for at least 30 to 45 minutes on an emergency call. Once they get there please be ready to deal with a rude, arrogant, obnoxious officer. They do everything possible to avoid actually having to do what tax payers are paying them to do, which is actually policing. They hate doing paperwork and God forbid they have to finger print a crime scene. You will get every reason why that isn't necessary. Even to the point of trying to convince you that you are now mixing up your stories. It's a shame that these people are payed with tax dollars and the tax paying citizen barely has a say in it. For such a large police department you would think that the city of Elizabeth would be a safer place. Not even close.
My mom had a stroke 8 years ago. My wonderful neighbor fixes cars on his property. The house always smells. We all have headaches. I called the cops they said it isn’t our property and hung up. Thanks Elizabeth Police!
Terrible police officers. Some not all but most put fear in the eyes of the ones that they suppose to "protect" . Police officer make our lives harder rather than safer or secure but they are the true criminals just to reach their quota or losing trust & living in fear because of THEM!
On July 16th, we were stranded on the side of the road in Elizabeth. It was getting dark, and we were out of battery for 4-way flashers, waiting for a tow. We called 911, and the Elizabeth PD responded, protecting us with professionalism and courtesy until a tow truck arrived. Thank you!
I just had an encounter with a very rude officer. I called in a complaint, but thought I would write a review. I asked about a stop light/baracade which I did not see...I was driving and was genuinely confused about what was going on. My question on whether I could make a left turn was met with a an extremely rude attitude. The office said, "what do you think I'm doing here?! What do you think those baracades are there for?!" I responded, "sir, I asked a simple question, you don't have to be so rude!" Honestly I'm appalled. I guess this is how the Elizabeth police treats its residents. Maybe it's time to find a better place to live.
Giving out tickets to the community while droping/picking up kids from school is beyond pathetic. What are we to do? Put our cars in our pocket? Teachers and faculty take all the parking for 2 or 3 blocks. There is 0 parking spots infront of most Elizabeth schools. I witnessed 3 people receiving tickets for waiting on there kids to exit today. They were double parked for 30 Seconds
If I could give Elizabeth police a rating it would be a 0 you call and make complaints about serious matters and Nothing happens I have a neighbor from hell above me and they do nothing at all
Terrible place. By far the worst police department in America. The staff cops are terrible. Homeless sleeping right by the door. Overall rating is at a 2.0 terrible. The police there are neophytes who can’t even type a proper written report. Then, to top it off, I talked to the LT. on duty and it was like getting to see the President of the US, difficult. He gave me the run around and defended his rookies. You get belittled at this station. The lack of policing knowledge is that of a high school student. No parking, only for the staff. Everyone is hanging out and watching cable tv with our tax money. Smells like urine, just like the old times in NYC subways. Very ignorant and cocky staff.
