Great hike for the whole family. Who doesn't love a well maintained trail to viewpoints of multiple waterfalls all on one loop hike? And Elk River is nearby for grabbing a huckleberry ice cream on the way out of town. Also, don't overlook the Elk Creek Campground and relatively nearby Giant Cedar Grove. Easy hiking, worth the visit.

Great little place for a day outing.  Mornings and weekdays are best, as even on a Sunday in late September when we visited, there were easily two dozen fellow adventurers here. One person told us that the last time she was here, the parking lot was so crowded that there was nowhere to park!  We saw only the middle falls and lower falls, but they were well worth the modest little hike to get to each viewpoint.  Signage is excellent on the loop trail and each spur.  The vault toilet and picnic benches at the parking area were well maintained.  If you arrive when it is busy, odds are that you'll find a pleasant diversion just two miles down the road at Elk River while you wait for the crowds to thin at Elk Creek Falls.

It was a lot stronger of a waterfall than I expected. Beautiful area. The road to the actual parking area was still full of snow so we had to hike in. It probably took an hour to get to the waterful and another hour back to where we parked, we did see fresh wolf tracks and got a bit concerned but we got back to our vehicle safely. Highly recommend checking it out but maybe later in the season so you can actually make it to the parking area unless you are an active hiker.

We started from parking lot, to lower, middle and ended with upper with a swim. Overall took us 4 1/2 hours.  Hubby said if he would have known he would have just did upper but it wasn't to bad we're just out of shape. I would say with the out and backs probably about  4 miles total I should have recorded. The vault toilet and tables at parking lot are very clean the trail is very clean. We rested at all the benches and were thankful we had extra snacks and extra water.

The trail is very well groomed and taken care of. The trail leading to upper falls is a little steep. You can swim at upper falls and jump off the rocks into the waterfall pool. Our kids had a blast swimming here and exploring the trails

Beautiful! A great hike for kids or a date. Swing by the town for some delicious huckleberry treats! Their ice cream is especially wonderful!
