Highly incompetent police officers who choose to abuse their power. They do not care about public safety and reducing crime. They care about enforcing tickets and ordinance violations. They do not care about the increase in robberies and theft going on.
I pulled over in this empty lot on Busse between the best western and the Good year tire business. I was just checking my load and taking a half hour mandatory break. This was on Thursday approximately five pm. There were no signs of any kind about no parking private property city property no tow away signs. This officer stopped and banging on my truck door. I don't know if he was using his fist, night stick or flashlight. He was yelling at me how I couldn't park there. I have family in law infocement. Too many aggressive police officers on the streets. There's better options than banging on people's vehicles and screaming at them.
These guys are not in service to fight crime or protect this community. Bunch of uneducated individuals with low IQs. They are a bunch of crooks that need to be defunded. They are in the business of hiding and pulling hard working people over for going 5 over the speed limit but have no solution to the endless crimes around the community such as the TCF bank robbery or 7/11 robbery or the endless crimes around the trail parks in the area. Stolen freights are an issue in Elk Grove as well. These guys are joke. No one in the community approves of the elk grove police they are all scrubs
I live .2 miles away. Seriously right behind the police station. Locked my keys in my car with the car running, and they wouldn't help me. Even though there was a police officer sitting at the top of my street. I can't wait until they have a fundraiser and need help. Seriously screw them

Was pulled over the other day for speeding. Being an African-American at times you are afraid to do with police however the officer who stopped me was so kind and gentle and treating me with so much respect unlike anything I’ve ever experienced I wish I knew his name but I just wanted to thank the department for your offices setting a great example on how to treat people
I had called Elk Grove police to come keep this dangerous man away from me while I gathered my hygiene stuff to go in a hotel till I could come back and get the rest of my stuff. The police department sent 2 female officers who humiliated me and did the complete opposite of support me. Instead of keeping the dangerous man away from me they instead brought him to my room where they all stood around my doorway while watching me pack my underwear, personal items etc. and laughing and talking to each other with the dangerous man. I would never ever call them for support again in fact the next time I went over I didn’t because I knew they had no intentions to help. Luckily I’m moving back home and I never have to see them again. Horrible service, why do they even wear that blue uniform????? Shame. When I had confronted the officers about it, one female officer responded. “We can’t come over to be mad at him” these female officers are so ignorant, all I needed was support since I already don’t know anyone here in IL and I was totally let down.
These guys are the worst! We have a stolen trailer for over a month they're not able to come to our office and do a proper report! We have called multiple times! You should be ashamed to call yourselves police officers!
Seriously, who leaves good reviews for the police in any town. Why do you even have reviews for police departments. Who is going to say, Officer Smith pulled me over and gave me a ticket, but he was nice and I will give him 5 stars. Nobody does. Craziest thing I have seen today
I need to let the world know how the Elk Grove Village Cares program helped me and my loved one. We exercised all of our options; medicaid doesn’t cover much or anything at all...& when we came to this program they were the only ones that truly helped us in our situation. Officer Johnson was spectacular and had our backs through the process and even when rehab facilities weren’t aware of the program, he was calm and collect and did what he could to get us a bed. He sat with us and waited with us for 3 hours as well as having great conversation, and kept us comfortable in the situation that we were in. The people in charge of this program are the greatest definition within the name; THEY CARE. They truly do.
