There’s a lap pool, a kiddie pool, a hot tub, and a locker room. It’s a simple but pleasant place. I’ve had good times here swimming laps and playing with my kids. If you’re tired of “adult swim” kicking your kids out of the pool or tired of paying for water slides you aren’t gonna use, try this place. My only complaint is sometimes the hot tub is closed for cleaning during “customer hours”. I think it should be closed for cleaning when customers aren’t here.
If I could leave no star I would. They are not concerned about the safety of my daughter and Granddaughter in the women's changing room. Luckily they changed before a biological male came in. I didn't stay to see if he undressed in there in front of the woman and children. I told the counter workers and I was told if that he identified as a woman then it was ok. I didn't see or know if they even asked him if he did or not. Don't let your children go if you're not sure if a guy is going to be watching you or them undress. They should have posted a sign stating that so I can choose to not go in the locker room . Obviously they don't care.
An excellent option for indoor exercise and family fun. The prices are actually quite fair if you buy the 90 day pass. Although it isn't fancy, it is clean, it has on duty lifeguards and includes a small fitness center. Showers are hot and clean Lots of bleachers for the parents to watch their littles during swim lessons. It does smell of chlorine but that's a good thing - you want that pool to be free of bacteria! The adult aqua fit classes are a blast and provide a serious low impact workout that gets the heart going, works the major muscle groups, and offers a fun way to begin or end the day. These classes are included in the 90 day pass fee, so that just adds to the value. Could it use some updating? Yes, absolutely. Coming out of a long quarantine period, I imagine that funds are a concern. I am disappointed that the facility is closed on Sundays but otherwise find this a wonderful gem in Ellensburg, WA
Terrible open swim / family swim hours and their roof is scary. But it is the only pool we know of in town.
It is cheaper on Wednesdays which is the only time I go. There is a very relaxing hot tub there and the pool is nice as well. It has been fairly empty every time I've gone so it has not been crowded and there's room to move around freely. I like to be in the hot tub for a while to release some tension and overall body aches. It can be helpful.
All in all great experience, love the new policy of parents have to be in the lesson with kids, much more fun and personal. A little annoying that you can't sign up for events like swim lessons at the pool, supposedly it can only be done online. That I'd what we were told.
Lockers don't work, the women's showers need remodeled and the RULES of the city pool need to be enforced I wished that the city pool would enforce the rules with babies and young children that they are not being watched by their parents. It is unsafe!! It isn't a lifeguards job to baby sit children who are unable to watch themselves while parents leave them unattended at such a young age. Parents have a duty to keep a mindful eye on their own children and not leave it up to other adults to take on that parents role. Parents need to respect other people and the staff at the city pool when bringing in their children. Lifeguards have a hard time keeping a eye on every child...so parents it is your job to help watch your own kids. If a parent has been approached by a staff member from the city pool and the parent argues or blatantly ignores a warning, then that parent should not be allowed back to the city pool. Watching a parent take their baby into a hot tub and or the sauna for long periods of time is dangerous to a babies health. So educate yourselves on the temperatures of these offered choices, that they may be appropriate for your child's age. Fellow citizens have the right to use the city pool without having to be worried about other people's kids possibly getting hurt injured or abducted. Enforce the rules, update the women's showers and FIX THE LOCKERS!!! Thank you.
When we checked in we were not informed of the rule that an adult has to accompany kids under seven into the small kid pool. The, I assume, manager then rudely informed us of the rule as we sat watching our children swim. I understand the rule. What I had an issue was the rude and aggressive manner in which we were informed. There are always ways to inform with grace and kindness, and this did not happen. Also, we would have made a different decision at check in had we been told at that point. Instead we were left scrambling to figure out what to do. Not a good impression for visiting guests from out of town.
Fun local pool with a few too many rules. I used to believe the lifeguards were told to make up rules to stop people that are having too much fun. After speaking with the director, I know it's not the case and she cares about making it better. Maybe one day it can drop it's nickname as the pool of rules. I've revised my review to reflect my appreciation for her interest in improving.
The staff was extremely rude! We are from out of town and, due to bad weather, decided to take our kids swimming. We paid for all of the kids ages 4-13 and no adults. Forty-five minutes into swimming, the manager rudely informed us that all kids under 7 must be in the pool with an adult kiddie pool included. We told her that this was not explained when we paid and she rudely stated “That has been our policy for years and it’s posted.” The front desk is covered in information and that policy was not clearly posted at all. I think it was their duty to inform us of that policy when we paid. Most importantly, her delivery of that information was so rude and disrespectful that we almost packed up the kids and left. Clearly someone needs some lessons on how to interact with the public! We will not be back!
