I’ve enjoyed stopping by regularly to look at guitars, buy strings and other incidentals, as well as sheet music. They are very helpful and friendly. Bill Ellsworth, Luthier, has set up and repaired my guitars so that they play much better. My wife and I recently started guitar lessons that are both challenging and entertaining. We are so glad to have Ellsworth’s conveniently at hand. Oh — I must mention they have a wide variety of other instruments too, and many qualified instructors.
My son has been taking saxophone lessons with Pat at Ellsworth for years. Whenever we’ve needed supplies, music or repairs Ellsworth has had them and/or been able to repair our instrument.
Absolutely love Ellsworth! Always ready to help, always accommodating for my schedule. Been with them for years and plan to stay! Excellent instructors, supplies, and advice.
Ellsworth Music Supply sells and repairs instruments and is also a thriving music instruction center. I love the place and the people.
Brian Elsworth runs a wonderful music store, and is a lifetime musician as well. He is not only highly knowledgeable, but generous with his time and service. I was in a guitar center on black Friday looking for a guitar, and the whole experience felt a bit lacking. I called Ellsworth music to see if they were running any deals, and he said: "Tell me what you're looking for, and I'll see what I can do." That told me everything I needed to hear. He didn't treat me like a number, and he took a genuine interest in my questions and concerns when I came in. He also said: "I'll do anything I can to keep you from buying a guitar at guitar center." And he didn't say it in a mean spirited fashion. He said it in a way that simply indicated he would give me a better customer experience. He kept his word and did just that. I walked out with a beautiful Alvarez for a great price, and learned a lot while I was there. Highly recommend. But make sure Brian is working when you go in.
Do not rent gear from these people. They don't know what they are doing. Obviously they are not familiar with setting up live sound. Our client rented a sound system from them for our acoustic Duo and all they gave them was a sub and no main speaker. Also two straight stands and not boom stands for people who play guitar. And only one mic clip. Ugh
My very first piano lesson at 45 years old was with Ellsworth Music School. I had the sweetest piano teacher, Janet H. She taught me so much in two years. She was not only my piano mentor but she became my friend. She challenged me and made me toe the line. I’d still be a piano student had we not moved to Colorado. Thanks for the memories and friendship Ellsworth!
Repairs less than satisfactory, had a guitar repair that left my guitar damaged, they restrung the guitar and charged me for the strings without asking if I wanted it done first and restrung it terribly. Had a saxophone repair too, when I got it back it was only halfway fixed. Good place if you need a reed but would not get repairs from here.
Really great music store. The prices are a bit high but also negotiable. Most of the staff is friendly and seem very inclusive. The only reason I knocked off two stars is because of the private lessons. We had at least one transaction that was never resolved from a cancellation. The biggest issue was my violin teacher S. A.. She was nice and knowledgeable but very unresponsive, a bit flighty and pushy. The last couple times I had to cancel, I never got a response from her. Then I informed her that I’d be taking a break from lessons since we were busy with our move, and again, no response or acknowledgement. I even told her I would let her know when I was ready to start back up, but after that, obviously I will not be returning to her again. Very disappointed but relieved to cut ties and move on in my violin journey.
At his old store he tried to steal 20$ from me he slipped it off the counter and then stepped on it while i had my back turned. Never turn your back on the owner he will surely try to rip you off.
