Ordered an 8 inch round tres leches cake for my one year old boy with blue writing and blue sprinkles. I got a rainbow sprinkle with red writing. Baker proclaimed, “I just made it! Don’t have no blue sprinkles. It’s vibrant, it’s bold…kids are gonna decide what gender they are later anyhow…that’s how it is now a days, can’t decorate like we already know.” Couldn’t tell if he was joking or serious, but either way WHAT???!!! Just STUPID….!!!
They have the best triple loochie cake there. We ordered a full sheet for small bday and it was gone in minutes! Will go again!
My first time at Alvira's Bakery was awesome! I didn't know where to start. There were so many things to choose from. A very nice and helpful young lady came to my rescue and helped me to pick out a nice variety of tasty bakery treats. I will definitely go back again soon. It's a five star bakery without a doubt. Everything is Delicious and amazing and it was a fun experience too...
We brought a half dozen Mexican pastries for breakfast too last a couple of days. They are delicious
This is my favorite bakery in Yuma. Classic tasty pastry, cakes, donuts.Tamales are great. They serve breakfast and light lunch items.The owners are very pleasant and friendly. Store is rustic and could a little TLC.
Delicious Tres Leches Cakes!!! Family owned bakery super friendly, great customer service! I ordered a Birthday Cake for my mom with some sunflower designs it turned out amazing and Delicious! I definitely recommend this place the cake was on point not to soggy or to dry, frosting was also deli not to sweet just right It was perfect!! Taste was authentic!!
I really want to give five stars because the service and tamale's were 100! Seriously, best tamales I have tried in Yuma or anywhere in a long time. I couldn't stop raving about the delicious beef tamales I bought from there and I even told a guy at the supermarket to go try them. The only thing I didn't like was that they use margarine in their baked goods which means I can't eat them as margarine is a synthetic ingredient. I wish they could upgrade to using only butter in their baked goods. Butter is a lot healthier and delicious than margarine. It is disappointing so many bakeries don't do their due diligence about the quality of the ingredients they use. It alienates shoppers who have certain standards. Again though, excellent, friendly, fast service and delicious tamales and hot sauce!!!
Great Panaderia. Wish they had more donut selections. Even Mexico has more American donut selections than Elvira's but... They have some great cookies and sweet breads.
I tried giving this place a second chance, but was disappointed once again. The pan dulce was stale and I bought 6 of them. Very little selection. There was flies everywhere which made it even worse. Never going back again.
Great variety of traditional Mexican bread with many flavors to choose from, something for everyone's unique taste buds. My favorite is the jalapeno and cream cheese bread which is made fresh daily. They also serve breakfast amongst other foods and their tamales are great.
